thanks guys, could i bother you with another query??

as i said, the tiles are cappuccino marble. having read a sticky (http://www.tilersforums.com/stone-tiling-forum/13769-stone-tile-corner-mitres-edge-finishing.html) , to do the corners, round windows, the cupboard etc, butt joints will look best. and that means polishing the cuts???
is that right??
soooo, where would i best get a variable speed angle grinder etc??
preferably without melting my poor bank account even further...

had a nosy at b&q, and they have these
MacAllister 125mm Angle Grinder MAG900C 900W, 0000005208784

and what if i dont have a workmate??? :mad2::oops:

hi Dave,

hope so.
part of the problem was that the guys doing the bathroom are polish and going back there on 17th. So for them to fit the shower screen and refit the radiator the tiling needs to be done by then..... thats one of the things that started the upsets.
i shouldnt have said things even in jest or in temper to him, as its just added pressure for him to be finished by then when he already felt under pressure to get it right in the first place.
i cant say anything to make him feel any different about things now even though i want to.

he did an amazing job of my kitchen tiles, and has thought through so many bits to do with the bathroom, and made so many improvements.

i feel such a moo.
knowing keraflex is the right adhesive doesnt actually matter at the mo, would so much rather he was happy and we hadnt fallen out :(
but just imagine how OH would feel when the tiles dropped off, he'd be walking on eggshells (and broken tiles) waiting for you to bring up the immortal line "I told you so!!"

Polished edges! You are aware that your husband will have grounds to divorce you on unreasonable behaviour should you wish to pursue this!
I personally wouldn't advise a non professional to attempt this, sorry:oops: If you must then I would advise he does some practice on off cuts first:thumbsup:

have to agree here safy!

making mistakes could destroy the job. If he does do it then I would reccomend having a few spare tiles for errors and dont attempt to do it after the tile is fixed. Tile full area and leave the tiles to be polished until last.

hi guys,

just a quick update. He has started the tiling and it looks amazing!!!
he is doing a fantastic job (though he is such a perfectionist about it)

its a slow process doing a bit in between other jobs, and we are learning as we go along (i'm just the gofer :lol:). The first lot of adhesive was a bit dry and the tiles werent as adjustable. He has found a consistency that he is happy with now.

we invested in a table cutter from topps before he started (their vitrex one) which has made cutting the tiles easy, and gives a really good edge.

meanwhile, another query is layout around things like the window ledge, and the boxing in shelf around the toilet. which way should the butt edges be on these?
