I used to enjoy tiling until I read this!
Now I'am so upset that we haven't been able to convince a member of the public the right way to tile.
I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight now!
Any comforting words from Admin?

Mmmmm well it's gunna be a long night john...

Time's Ran Out

We have helped saffy john, the problem was that she had to then in turn convince her partner.

Do you ask for directions when you are lost TJ ????

Its a man thing.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'am a lost soul!
But I will find my way forward with the help of the Tilers Forum.
When I become a man I too will look towards precious stones!

Time's Ran Out

Possibly too deep a response!
I don't drink, don't smoke -I just tile!
If I ask for directions when I get lost I assume the instructions I'am given will get me where I want to go!
This thread seems to have gone from an inquiry on adhesive to an Agony Aunt column and as such may be more apt to general chat!

thanks for the mixing advice, that sounds reassuring!! got a mixing bucket as well and a whisk thing :)

what sort of quantity would you expect using keraflex?
the walls are around 18-19m2 to tile, and i based the quantity on 20m2 just in case. I got 5 bags???? :dizzy2: which cost £27 each
does that sound about right???

I think you could get away with 4 bags as you normally get at least 5 or 6sqm from a 20kg bag. If you dont use the 5th bag I imagine you could return it.

£27 to retail is fair if it was the white but, trade price would be cheaper than this.

Where did you buy it from Saffy? It's not the best price but it's not way over the top:thumbsup:.

The trade buy these materials on a regular basis so can get them a lot cheaper it's one of the factors to take into account when getting prices from tradesmen. I thought the price of £500 was very reasonable taking into account the discount the tiler would have got you on materials it makes it even cheaper.

I hope all goes well and hopefully your other half will be so chuffed with his work he'll make out the adhesive choice was his idea all along.

If he needs any further advice tell him to come on here and we'll help as much as we can:thumbsup:
