If its not even a full day I'd do them for free, bet you'll end up with much more than a days work from it.

Definately worthwhile for all the time it takes. In tile shops round these parts, the people who do the display boards usually get first refusal of the work. Even better if your card is on the stand.

i have always been paid for tilling shop displays only charged cost but made lots of friends with the sales staff spent time getting to know them after all people recomend people . cards can lie about for years.when ever i was tilling a shop displays always picked up lotts of work from custormers comming in .allways had time to give sales staff advice .siad call me if you need advice .when they called i always got the job it pays to be helpfull:8:

I have done displays in both the local Topps and Tile Giant. Got at least one job from each whilst in there working - just talking to customers. Got more builders thinking they can tile asking "How do you...." type questions.
Had postcard size business card on several of the displays in Topps for a while before their Area Manager said they had to be removed because of their Approved Fitter service (of which I was one)

If you do them for free and you get just one job from it your quids in. I would take the chance and do it. Is it a busy shop? Chances are a customer will take the easy route and take your name if they like the board. Don't look at it as a free days work look at it as free advertising 🙂

I do the boards in my local topps if i have a spare day. I always ask for some tools and a few bags of adhesive. Basically things they can write off, there happy and so am i, new trowels, washboys etc etc got a new rubi paddle mixer last week which was a winner.
Manager does put a alot of work my way.
Shop may have 20 tilers on the "books" but you may well be top of that list if you help them out.
