I tiled the floor and the exterior of my main shop, but I don't have my cards on display. I only get recommended for the larger or more complicated jobs for clients willing to spend money. They have a tier system with all the tilers based on ability and price. As Rob has said, boards are normal badly tiled, so may be a good opportunity to get a step ahead of the rest and I would do them for free!

Why the shop don't do it themselves is another thing though thinking about it. They should be able to do display boards, surely?

they normaly do dan, think the manager has just come up with a way of getting them done properly at little or no cost...

Take the money. Good will does not pay the mortgage.

Just make sure you don't do them, then they take your cards down after a week. Do you use them much?

Andy 20 other tilers chasing the same work the basic law of supply and demand would say that the market you are in is flooded,Are there any specialist tile shops or marble suppliers near you even kitchen and bathroom showrooms you may find that they will only have 1 or 2 competitors in which will give you more chance of winning some work

I'd go for the money and say "stick my card in the corner and I'll recommend my customers to you"

I have done a few boards at my local supplier, I help them when I can and I do it for free. They hand my cards out and the whole relationship works very nicely.

I've actually spent half a day with them today, had a job that finished up early so called in for some networking  I would never turn down paying work for them, but when I get the time, why not?
