Have noticed that many people keep bidding for items on Ebay many days before Auction ends, this inevitably pushes the price up.
There are a number of websites that offer to bid for you at the last minute, but usually this is a subscription service and it costs.
However it is easy enough to do it yourself.
When you see an item that you want, keep a note of Auction finish time, then get yourself set up on the computer about fifteen minutes before.
You will first need to open Ebay at the page which lists the item and shows how long is left.
Next you need to open another browser by pressing CRTL & N buttons at the same time. Log into Ebay again and go to the place where you can enter your maximum bid.
You will then need to keep both browsers open and reduce the size so that they can both be seen on your screen at the same time.
Enter the maximum bid on the bid page, but do not click on "Place Bid"
Keep refreshing the other page so you can see how many minutes are left until the end of the auction. Have the stopwatch on your phone ready. When the auction shows that it is in the last minute, then set your stop watch going. Wait until there are about ten seconds to go and click on "place bid" in the other browser you have open.
If your final bid is higher than anyone else's final bid you will win the Auction without them having time to up their bid. Providing you get your timing right ( takes practice)
This works, you have a bit of an advantage of hiding in the background until the end, and not pushing the price up making the bidding war even worse.

It is obvious that a lot of people do not use this method, otherwise there would not be so many bids on an item, four or five days before the auction ends.
Hope this makes sense & happy bidding.

goofbay.com has a free bid sniper program that can be set to bid at as little as 1 second before the auction end, you dont even need to be logged into ebay, on the internet or even at a computer and just enter your max bid and leave it. The bonus being you enter your max bid long before the end of the auction so dont get over exited and pay more that you wanted to in the excitment.

I find ebay to be more expensive for most things now though, some craft type items are good, but most stuff is either tat, cheap imports or overpriced.

A good tip is to do the advanced search option, change the parameters to within 25 / 50 miles of your home address, items for colletion only, and in the seach box type "pickup / collection only", this will give you a list of items near you that wont deliver, there are usually some good bargains becuse alot of people wont collect things, if they cant be posted there not interested, you can pick them up cheap and sell them on for a profit.
