good day on river today, not many salmon about, but managed to get 2 today 10lb each.

nice doug nice,,,you been out much this season? i was fishing for a day in co durham last week managed a few small fish nowt very big though this time

first outing was last friday Jamie got a job in Scotland finished a day early so had a day on River Lyon,had a 5lb grilse. Came home friday night and then went out last sunday and had another 5lb grilse, then not out till today and 2 ten pounders.

another 2 today, one just shy of 10lb and a 4lb grilse which is now in farmers freezer

I go fishing with my brother from time to time, its the only time I ever get any peace and quiet. But I never caught nothing. I think I best stick to the hook a duck at the fair.

I'm do alot of fishing in the big lakes of Ireland like mask , corrib sheelin etc , simply the best wild brown trout fishing in the world ! You couldn't beat it drifting from a boat on a big rolling wave watching and waiting , for that chance of a lifetime either on the dryfly or pulling wets! Scenery is great and the Craic even better!

I have blanked all season util last week when i managed 7 salmon biggest being about 14lb all returned. weird season

it's been weird allright dave, I've never seen my little river so devoid of migratory salmon or sea trout as last couple of years, I'm guessing (and I'm praying it's a good guess) is that with the high rain levels we've had over last couple of summers, is that the fish are trickling through over summer and autumn, rather than the usual autumn high waters/high run.
