Hi all,

Whilst posting my flyers last week, a bloke came out to his van who was working on this house,I got to talking with him,and he asked how much a metre I charged,I told him around £18 m2, he said we we was way to cheap,he was a builder but charges £55 per m2 inc mats for tiling. He said he had a rake of work on,and was even paying his plasterers £250 a day. He took our card anyway, and said he could make a fortune out of us.
What dya think about that kind of rate peoploids.
Vinnie.

ok, I know a similar tradesman, a plumber who has a tiler employed full time, pays him £200 per day. This plumber quoted my mate £1350 + VAT to repair a leaking pipe and re-tile floor (no more than 3m2 polished limestone). Thing is he is always packed out with work because his reputation is very very good, and people are therefore happy to pay that sort of money.

I know of a couple of firms who work with prices that are equally as high in a few trades and I think it can be charged and the payers are out there.

Dolphins bathrooms and co simply work their *** off as a salesforce to get work in and then sub it out and profit from some products / furnishings too and they quote 7/8k for a bathroom re-fit that the firm I used to work for charged around the 2/3k mark.

vinnie , dont under sell yourself now or you may struggle to catch up later on, i.e customers may expect cheap if thats how you have been recommended. The first job i did (a hallway) the chap said he was delighted with the work but the only problem was i was too cheap!!! yes thats what the customer said!! he would have paid more basically, he actually did give me extra to what i quoted!! get it right from the beginning mate thats what i have learned....good luck..rik
