So as I’ve asked about this a few times and I’ve had some time off over Christmas I’ve decided to start it. I’ve first started to cut and thread all the galvanised conduit. Assembled it all with the end boxes and dome lids.

I’ve then primed it and then using some ZG90 sprayed it white. I’ve then had a right challenge getting the right 10mm T&E through the conduit.

Putting a meter over the 2 terminals i get 240 volts but connecting the earth comes up with an error connecting to the garage. There is 110 volts between neutral and earth. Hi, I recently bought a new planer. When I switch it on the RCD in the garage board trips. The machine doesn't try to start, the power trips as soon as the ON button is pressed. It has a 16 amp plug. I plugged it into an existing 16 amp outlet that I use with my welder. The planers info plate says it is 13.5amp.
My other machines that all run fine.
Any ideas what may be causing...

Still got a hangover from saturday but im struggling with one 🤣

EICR, everything tests ok until i press the button on the RCD and it doesnt trip.

Tried 2 spare RCDs same thing.

When i disconnect the sockets Neutral from the busbar it then works.

Type AC 30ma 80A RCD

What am I missing?

I installed a socket outside (on a garden bar) which is run from a DB from the side building, fed from the main CU in the house on a 20amp.

The DB which feeds the garden bar has been turned into a TT system.

1. Would you do EFLi at the DB or main CU?

2. The 3core SWA is only connected to the MET in the CU, this is correct if im right in believing...

Bear with me because this is long. So got an intermittent fault on the upstairs lights. Trips the mcb after a few hours, getting a reading of 0.01 mega ohms between live and earth at the board, tested cable going to db from first switch and it’s clear. Tested the cable going from first switch to rest of switches and getting a reading of 5.2 megaohms so can’t understand where the 0.01 is coming from...
