Higher than normal CO on new Grant Install Discussion Thread

Higher than normal CO on new Grant Install Discussion Thread

Wondering if anyone can shed some light. Installed a grant 15-21 internal utility boiler on Wednesday. Has a lo nox burner so co2 needs to be 12.5%. Got the co2 at 12.5% but just can’t get the co level down. Sitting at 75ppm which I know is lower than 100, but all the grants I’ve installed before co usually well below 30ppm. Bit of context it has a vertical balanced flue no bends and is well within max flue length. Just...

Radiator tails weeping Discussion Thread

Radiator tails weeping Discussion Thread

Hi all,

I fitted my first rad the other day and unfortunately both tails are weeping. Whilst holding the tail in my left hand I wrapped ptfe between 15 and 20 turns clockwise. I screwed them in with my radiator spanner as far as they would go, not quite up to the last thread though.

Im going to drain the system (its only a couple of rads) and try again. I guess the options are to try and screw them in a little further? Or Shall I start again...

What could be causing this noise in the tundish? Discussion Thread

What could be causing this noise in the tundish? Discussion Thread

Hi all, anyone know what could be causing this? Everytime I flush the toilet the (what I think is called) tundish makes a gurgling sound. I live in a flat and sometimes when the people upstairs flush too it can be heard. I had a similar issue about 4 months ago whereby it was leaking due to the washing machine and kitchen taps being a bit clogged, got it cleared by a plumber but now I’m a bit worried about hearing it...

Capped gas pipe begging oven Discussion Thread

Capped gas pipe begging oven Discussion Thread

Hi all. Hope you are well.

So I fitted a new induction hob today for my father and whilst the old hob was off I saw that the old gas pipe for an old gas hob that has been capped off with a solder fixing is touching the back of the oven housing. I pulled that oven out slightly and it is not pushing the pipe much, like 1mm, but just wanted to check if you think it's ok to be touching the back of the oven? I mean it's not going to get hot...

Replacing push fit Osma Gold for something else - tap change Discussion Thread

Replacing push fit Osma Gold for something else - tap change Discussion Thread

Hi,

I know the fittings I have are Wavin Osma Gold and have done a fair bit of research into them, I just wanted to confirm once I try and demount the fitting with bent circlip pliers and discard the Osma, as long as I keep the original insert on the lower plastic main part.

That I will be ok to use Hep2o or JG speed fit etc?

The grey pipe is also Wavin and seeing as unless I cut the lower copper and...

Ideal logic C35+ with Halo Lite RF ( not wi-fi) Discussion Thread

Ideal logic C35+ with Halo Lite RF ( not wi-fi) Discussion Thread

Trying to find an answer to my question regarding "load compensation" Once Halo target temp of 20*c is reached , + another 5* (20'5*c) and the red flame in the display and green "demand" light
on the reciever go out, the boiler still kicks in and out every 5- 15 mins until end of program. From what i've read, this is due to the "load compesation" built into the Halo prt.
My question is.............when the load...

Is that right to add inhibitor in boiler filter? Discussion Thread

Is that right to add inhibitor in boiler filter? Discussion Thread

I had an engineer today added inhibitor in the boiler filter via Magnaclean when he did the boiler service after taking off the filter.

But before the engineers all added inhibitor in the radiators, and I searched online that majority information shows the inhibitor should be added in radiator.
So is it ok or right to add inhibitor in the boiler filter via Magnaclean?

Thanks for any input!

Is that right to add...

WANTED: Grasslin Famoso 601rf timer thermostat Discussion Thread

WANTED: Grasslin Famoso 601rf timer thermostat Discussion Thread

Hello, the clock broke on my wireless mechanical timer thermostat for my baxi boiler.
The item is 20 years old now so someone might have a spare one from removing an old boiler.
The Grasslin famoso 601rf was supplied for several brands but its the same other than badge, e.g. baxi, ideal, alpha, grasslin.
Another variation has day&night temp dials rather than just one dial like below. Either will work for me.
If you have...
