How to access taps behind a P shaped shower bath

I'm about to install a P shaped shower bath into a small bathroom. However I've noticed that with the bath in place it's not possible to reach under the bath to the pre drilled tap holes. Because of the circular shape there's also no line of sight to these either making it very hard or impossible to reach with a spanner.

So if I were to install the bath like this I'm wondering if it's possible to remove the taps without ripping out the whole bath?

One option I'm considering is to cut new...

Plastic hot water connection. Which compound to use??

Hi, I have a leak on the hot water inlet of my concealed Aqualisa Gainsborough shower.
I have stripped it back and with the hot water feed on I can see the drip appear at the bottom of the plastic screw fitting.

I want to ensure that when I re-tile it, I won't have the same problem in the future and was wondering what to use around the plastic thread to make a well sealed connection, (PTFE, boss white, etc etc) bearing in mind it is the hot feed of a plastic/nylon inlet.

(I have attached a...

need a new shower but my hot/cold pipes are reversed!

Hi All
I need some advice as to a replacement power shower and there are a few problems
I have posted a photo showing the old unit ( a ShowerForce 2000 ); it has supply pipes which run down from the roof and into the left side of the unit as shown

The big problem is that the hot and cold are reversed ie the hot is on the right and cold on the left
I have heard that it is possible to get a reversed cartridge? that can be fitted to a shower unit to allow for this

So can someone tell me if...

Do I need to bother with traps at all??

I'm building a new off-grid house. I have a septic tank exclusively for WC's, but the bathroom has its own independent stone & gravel soak away which is straight into the ground and not connected to the septic, and obviously not connected to any main drains etc. Therefore, no sewer gases etc. Which makes me think - in this specific case do the bathroom fittings (sink, shower, and bath) even need traps??

Shower screen reinsert problem

Hi

I had to remove the glass panels from this quadrant shower cubicle and I'm struggling to get one of the screens back in place properly. The small glass panel is supposed to slide into the wall channel, and some holes in the side of the channel (inside the cubicle) should align with some holes in the frame attached to the glass panel, allowing for some screws to go in and securing the frame in place. My problem is that the frame isn't going deep enough into the channel. Normally I'd take...

Aqualisa electric shower, mains water entry point blanking plug

Hello, Im looking for help in tracking down a replacement part for an Aqualisa Energy 10.5 Kw Shower. The bit that has started leaking is the top facing mains entry point- Im using the bottom entry point.
Ive attached a few pics of the part in question. It has the grey sleeve in the centre of which sits the slotted point for extraction.... I cannot seem to source this anywhere so any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Traymate Shower tray

Hi guys,

This is my first post so apologies if this isn't the right section for the post.

I'm a qualified plumbing and heating engineer with nearly 20 years experience under my belt.

I have an issue with a (client supplied) TM Traymate shower tray/trap and wondered if anyone else has had similar issues? As you can see from the pictures, it has cracked directly inline with one of the two fixing screws which retain the entire trap. The shower tray has been installed for around 6 months and...

Shower mixer knob won’t reattach

I bought this shower mixer unit from Victoria Plumb some years ago, & one of the handles has come off & I cannot manage to re-fit it to the mixer unit arm (see photos).

It was in place for a long time but somehow came off recently but no matter how much pressure I apply to try to push it back on, it won’t stick. I don’t want to push it any harder as I fear I’ll damage the (Mermaid) panels behind it. I am
presuming (perhaps incorrectly?) that it was originally just pushed in & clicked into...

Fixing the upright of a shower enclosure

Fixing the upright of a shower enclosure

Is there anyway of getting a good fixing, where the upright of the shower enclosure meets the continuous edge of large vertical porcelain tiles? I'm concerned about the possible cracking of tiles with holes drilled so near to the edge, and also the possibility of leakage. Laying the tiles horizontally is going to be so bitty. I'm quite prepared to make a payment for anyone who can make a good workable suggestion.
Tony.

Mystery Tap

I have a quarter turn on/off lever tap that I want to replace as it's dripping. I have no clue how to remove it having taken the cap off. Have a look at the attached pic. Any clues? The shower is maybe 20 years old, and is a traditional brass exposed valve type.

Shower drain cover - can I get something that will fit?

The drain cover in my shower cubicle is flaking and discoloured. I was hoping to remove the centre section and replace it with one of those slightly-domed covers, concealing the outer ring. Unfortunately it seems they all come with a 42mm spigot attached, and the hole is just 40mm. I don’t want to turn this into a major project because the shower cubicle itself will need replacing in a year or two. Any ideas? TIA!

Pura shower head - too much weight for a tiny thread

Hi there,

Hopefully someone will be able to help me…..

I have what I believe is a pura shower arm which has recent started leaking from the fitting which is really no wonder when you compare the weight of the shower arm (let alone the additional weight of the shower head) to the tiny female thread within the arm- please see photos.

I am looking to obviously stop the leak but when screwing the arm to the brass fitting it does not tighten up sufficiently as it over threads.

I have tried...

Why is my pumped shower suddenly slow in starting?

Not been on here for ages, got a lot of help when I installed my bathroom some years ago. Everything went fine until I had to replace the shower mixer valve recently. The old one had started to get stiff to turn, so I fitted an identical unit to make the job easy - it's a cheap, minimalist "Harrison Mode" unit from a well known victorian supplier. All went well, until I came back from 2 weeks away, and I now find there is a delay when I turn the shower on - was a second or two, now up to 5...

Help with continuously dripping shower head

I've installed a new shower head and hose, replacing an old Aqualisa which started to drip. The new replacement shower head which is smaller than the original also drips.

There's no leaking as expected from the new hose connections with the head or wall elbow. I've removed the cover of the elbow connection and can see a small but constant amount of water coming out even when the shower is switched off.

I've removed the control panel to try and locate the faucet valve which I believe is one...

Do you recognise this shower drain rubber seal?

Do you recognise this shower drain rubber seal? I have searched the web and common plumbing spares suppliers but I cannot find which it is.

It is from a 1990s new build en-suite shower. The plastic cover plate is silver and, when you remove it, two screws go through the fixing plate and pull the trap up against the underneath of the shower tray. The black rubber seal fits between the base of the shower tray and the top of the trap. It looks grey in the photos as I reset the image gamma to...
