Ideal Standard Dual Flush Cistern Overflow Problem Discussion Thread

Ideal Standard Dual Flush Cistern Overflow Problem Discussion Thread

Any help greatly appreciated.

It appears that every time i flush the toilet the cistern fills up then overflows back in to the toilet. This can last for 2 minutes or is continually running. I have replaced the cistern dual valve as it was very loose and parts had broken off it and it wasn't a snug fit.

That said, the situation is the same with the water now still overflowing. It appears to be a problem with the...

Worcester greenstar combi problem Discussion Thread

Hi this is my first post so please be gentle.
I have a Worcester greenstar 28i junior combi fitted in my house, we were having a troublesome drip from the back right of boiler, we found a gas safe plumber who come round and had a good look, he told me the back right hand block was leaking and needed to be replaced, we accepted and he said he would come back when the part arrives.
So the plumber came and fitted the big part, we paid...

How to access taps behind a P shaped shower bath Discussion Thread

How to access taps behind a P shaped shower bath Discussion Thread

I'm about to install a P shaped shower bath into a small bathroom. However I've noticed that with the bath in place it's not possible to reach under the bath to the pre drilled tap holes. Because of the circular shape there's also no line of sight to these either making it very hard or impossible to reach with a spanner.

So if I were to install the bath like this I'm wondering if it's possible to remove the taps...

Danfoss - heating water Discussion Thread

Danfoss - heating water Discussion Thread

Hi All,
I hope you are well. I have Danfoss CP715Si controller and when I try to heat water the boiler does not kick in.
When I select Hot Water to ON or press +1HR button to turn it on for one hour the red light comes up on the controller but the boiler does not kick in.
It does kick in when I turn the heating on.
What could be the problem?
Thanks

Hot water issue with combi boiler Discussion Thread

I have a combi boiler, the hot water to my bath and taps upstairs is hot and stays hot, aswell as the hot tap in my downstairs bathroom, but in my kitchen the hot tap gets very very hot but it only lasts a couple of minutes then runs cold. I don’t know if it’s connected but the previous owner has what looks like a water filter system under the sink. Any advice please?
Thank you

well suction negative pressure Discussion Thread

well suction negative pressure Discussion Thread

My pump is lifting water about 20 to 25 ft through 1-1/4" pipe at about 800' above sea level. Can anyone calculate the negative pressure at the pump for me? I'm just not that bright. I've recently installed a check valve near the pump and am having some issues with the system sucking air in and losing prime. Just curious to know what numbers I'm up against.

Shower drain cover - can I get something that will fit? Discussion Thread

Shower drain cover - can I get something that will fit? Discussion Thread

The drain cover in my shower cubicle is flaking and discoloured. I was hoping to remove the centre section and replace it with one of those slightly-domed covers, concealing the outer ring. Unfortunately it seems they all come with a 42mm spigot attached, and the hole is just 40mm. I don’t want to turn this into a major project because the shower cubicle itself will need replacing in a year or two. Any ideas...

Noisy main cold water pipe, my plumber hasn't heard this before. Discussion Thread

Hi Folks,

Would like to cast the net far and wide to try and get some resolution to this problem. The mains water coming into the property via a 15mm copper pipe, I have a Worcester Bosch Heatslave 15/19 around 16 yrs old to which the mains goes into - just above the boiler our plumber fitted a pressure valve to limit the pressure going into the boiler as we kept blowing the flow meter in the boiler...

CRM SOFTWARE - your opinions on the best few brands please Discussion Thread

Hi Everyone,

I currently use E-Works CRM software and feels it does have good customer support & good value for money but I do find it a bit slow to use, to do anything on it seems long winded and more complicated than it needs to be. It does have very good trackers with dash cam though which has come in useful several times.

Also find it glitches often and our outfield staff find it hard to use and it...

Worcester Bosch Greenstar Regular Boiler - Always ON Discussion Thread

Worcester Bosch Greenstar Regular Boiler - Always ON Discussion Thread

Morning all,

I've noticed very recently that our Worcester Bosch Boiler is constantly ON and making a fair bit of noise.

The flame is not on, but certainly sounds like the pump is running, AND the water temperature does seem high considering we've not had any demand for it for a good 48hrs or so. Boiler is a 40cdi Greenstar Regular, Setup CH only and an unvented cylinder.

I recorded a video to help describe what...

Intermittent bad smell Discussion Thread

Intermittent bad smell Discussion Thread

Hi

I have an intermittent bad smell that's really hard to pin down, I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on it.

I can go months without smelling that sulphur smell and then one day it kicks in. Sometimes its really faint, others its strong and lingers. I never know when it will stop, sometimes days, others weeks at a time. It seems to only be linked to hot water usage upstairs (1 bathroom with a shower and sink tap too). And its...

Grundfos MQ3-45 - Weird Noise Discussion Thread

I have a Grundfos MQ3-45 feeding my domestic water from a ground level tank (filled from an RO system from the well). The pump is about 4 years old, with normal-heavy household use. Today it started making a bit of an awful noise - see the attached video. I disassembled the hydraulic end of it to see if there was anything odd there, but it was all normal.

Any ideas? I would like to avoid spending $1500 on a new pump, since I think these...

Smelly Odour Randomly Started Discussion Thread

I have had a mystery smell start in my house all of a sudden.
The smell is prominent in an adjoining linen closet to my bathroom and appears to e coming from subfloor.
My home sits on brick piers (single story) with a dirt subfloor and forced fan subfloor ventilation installed to keep it all dry.
Note: No recent plumbing works done in the house (>12 months since anything was touched)

I have had 2 plumbers out so far and both have stated...
