Mixer tap ring sheared during seal replacement - how remove Discussion Thread

In serious trouble here, was going to replace seals around base of mixer tap spout as it was stiff to rotate. Allen removed ok, but spout very difficult to remove, but working it back and forth got it out. But a part has sheared and is stuck in tap base. How on earth I am going to get this piece out. Boy am I in the dwang!

Fire valve external oil boiler Discussion Thread

We have an external grant vortex pro and the fire valve is on the oil supply line 1.4m away from the boiler . Read somewhere should be a distance of minimum 1 metre away .

The sensor end is clipped into clip above the burner correctly . Just wondered if the fire valve should be closer or if that’s ok at 1.4m

10 years on the forum Discussion Thread

Just realized that I have been on this forum for 10 years and 1 day.

Joined up when had some real horrid things going on... death of my dad + health issues + bad financial issues.
Personally didn't think at the time I would be around now.

I would hate to read some of the posts I've posted over the years.....

Seen many come and go and forum dropping off to almost nothing many a time.

Not as active as I was when I needed to vent.....but still...

We have a combi boiler supplying dhw and c/h to our 4 bed, 2 bath house. The boiler is in a cupboard on the first floor bathroom and supplies shower, bath and sink.

What valve is the flow Discussion Thread

Hi all
I removed a radiator off the wall and forgot to note what valve was the flow as I'll be replacing with a new radiator with a trv. Without putting back and re connecting how can I tell what pipe is the flow and what pipe is the return because I assume the trv goes on the flow. Btw both plastic caps are missing off the valves. Cheers in advance.

Where does the bellows fit on a Grohe adagio single valveflush? Discussion Thread

I can't see whether the bellows which activates the flush is supposed to fit inside the opening at the top of the valve or press down on the edge.
It doesn't seem to be aligned with the top so I don't know what's up with it.

Unvented Megaflo Strange Noise Discussion Thread

Hi,

I have an unvented megaflo that it or nearby components make these strange noises shortly after drawing hot water and then shutting off. In this example, water was drawn for 10 seconds and then shut off. The noise continued for around a minute. I couldn’t find where it was coming from and no pipes were vibrating.

The boiler was not heating water at the time.

Wondering if i could get a little guidance, I have a 3/8 plastic line running from a softener to a coffee machine (because laziness), however the line pressure seems to be maybe 2.5 bar. The manufacturer state the max line pressure is 2 bar (29 PSI). for the life of me i cant find a device to let me lower the pressure in the line which will connect to the 3/8 plastic line. im happy to throw on some...
