Bubbling shower trap Discussion Thread

Hi
For the past 2 months my shower has been draining slowly and bubbling like there an air block. I've put 3 loads of drain cleaner down, but still not draining properly.
Any advice would be very greatfully received.

Immersion Heater Leak? Discussion Thread

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what is going on here?
My 25 year old megaflo cylinder in the airing cupboard has a secondary immersion heater and I noticed the plastic cover felt damp at the bottom, but no signs of drips on the floor below. Getting the right length pan connector for a toilet with plinth Discussion Thread

Hi all,
We recently had to have our toilet pan replaced as the old one cracked. Plumber installed new pan as in pics below, and says we have a choice - 3 inches behind the plinth or 3 inches sticking out over.

This can't be right can it? Is there no solution to get the connection length right?

Has anyone fit the hot water cylinders with a little heat pump on the top that has ducts to bring inside and outside air in to the unit. Piping up wise is it just the same as a normal direct cylinder?

Atkinson tank top oil feed Discussion Thread

As title anyone using one, good? bad? ugly? has to feed through a de-aireator to the boiler, but should not be a problem, my question is, should the oil line be insulated up the side of the tank, if so how do you attach the insulation to a plastic tank? Pipe being used is green PVC covered, would this be sufficient?

Boiler sounds like a plane Discussion Thread

Can anyone advise why my Worcester Bosch System boiler when heating hot water does this sort of surging/woosh/hum that's a slightly higher pitch than the normal water heating noise noise like a plane taking off every 5 to 15 minutes? It last about 10 to 15 seconds each time. It's very noisy and our old plumber who dealt with our boiler is no longer in business so even though it has done this before we can't remember what it is.
