What ever suits you. If your putting in products to be saved, you can for example put per metre square or type as a job whole. I'll dig out last weeks tiling invoice & post it up just to show you.

On this you can see set prices I have for removal & re-fit of sanitary ware & set price for ceramic per m2. The ** are items that are saved in my product list. Ones without are ones I have manually typed.
You can also discount things either per item or on the subtotal

Go to products at the bottom hit the plus and you can add day work for example then hit next then set your rate then hit save now when you are doing a quote or an invoice all you do is type d in the items menu and day work will come up in a list of things starting with d select it hit next your rate will come up all you need to do then is select how many days the job will take and it will enter the cost automatically
