Excuse the lack of expertise - I'm a plumbing virgin!
I'm currently building an open shower in the corner of a largish bathroom. The floor is concrete on brick supported by reinforced concrete beams above a cellar (this is in Spain by the way) I plan to make the floor to a fall using cement...
All bathrooms require holes to be drilled into the tiles to fit a range of
fixtures and fittings.
Common sizes of rawl plugs are 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm,
At 365Drills we have simplified the sizes to
6mm (red plugs) standard fittings
and
8mm (brown plugs) heavy duty load bearing items.
In the...

Not really tiling I know but someone may have a good idea or two.
I will be fitting a 1700 by 800 shower tray in a recess. It weighs (I think) about 55kg. I will need to bed on mortar on raised plinth. Obviously I shall have to enlist an extra pair of hands . Problem is how do I position it...

Hello,
I have some 5cm x 5cm ceramic tiles to be fitted to a bathroom wall. I have removed a few of them from the mesh backing because of slight damage, & also the spacing is out on a few of them (no time to order replacements!). Out of about 65 30 x 30cm sheets to fit, there is maybe 1 tile...

When fitting a 4 size opus modular, do you find you have to shave some of the tiles to make them all fit with even grout lines, done a few with some real expensive stone and they were already pre-cut, but general ready available sets from places like Topps i find need to be cut down... they all...
After a bit of advice please - Started a bathroom job yesterday and the cm has selected 'semi translucent' glass mosaics (20mm.sq, 8mm thickness) for the side wall of the shower (approx 6m.sq).
Tiles are almost see through (backing paper just about visible through tiles when held against a...
Hello,
I am about reayd to tile and have bought a white plastic tile edge to go on the ends of tile were it meets painted wall and round windows. How are these fitted?
Do I just stick them to the wall with the adhesive and then tile over them again using adhesive?
If so do I stick the edge...
Hi - recently installed hardibacker to my bathroom floor after many, many weeks of getting excessive amounts of the hardest adhesive in the world off the floor!
Anyway I cant adjust the level of the toilet and pedestal any more than I have already (I'd love to be able to tile underneath, but I...
Hi guys,
I'm going to be stripping out our shower cubicle soon and refitting with new tray and enclosure. We went to Topps yesterday and came back with 4m2 of zamora beige 14.8 x 60 tiles for the enclosure. I also came out with a bag of Bal pro adhesive:
I've been onto eBay just this minute...
Hi
I think I am a reasonably competent DYer but I have limited experience with Bathrooms at this stage.
I am trying to plan the design and fitting of a new bathroom, including a shower and I have some questions.
I am looking at using a shower tray and tiling the wall, my first concern is...
Hi, first post here so be gentle ...
I'm a reasonably experienced builder and a fair tiler and have a job coming up for a good client. It's a bathroom in a newish build house. Stud walls and water resistant flooring board etc.

I am about to fit mosaic wall tiles for the first time. I have heard some horror stories and wonder if anyone can offer me some advice on how to do the job successfully?
It is only a small job so I aim to complete it in a day, would anyone recommend using the mixed tubs of grout and adhesive????

I am doing a customer's bathroom and this includes ufh. They have supplied Thermonet heatmat. The situation is:
Solid concrete floor approx 4sqm, previously laid with vinyl tiles on bitumen for past 30+ years, tiles came up easily floor seems stable.
Slight complication is plumber has dug up an...
Hi,
Have you any recommendations on fitting a shower enclosure to the wall?
My preference is to fit the enclosure to the plaster wall and then tile to it on either side, as the tiles are a different size/type on the inside of the shower compared to the outside.
Is there any obvious reason...
I expect you are all horrified at the cost of the Fein blades against the Bosch Blades.
I came across this adapter on that famous auction site for those of you who are interested.
Has anyone tried it out yet? At that cost you would soon re-coup the outlay.
I think I will invest in one and then...
FACT: Shower glass at 10mm is heavy and need a number of fixings to hold that weight!
At some stage you will need to install your shower glass panel and door. Most units come as an assembly pack that make use of
1) Large screws
2) Metal channels to secure the glass
3) Extra lugs or wall...
I have tiled an alcove shower area with plain white tiles and left a 75mm wide horizontal strip free from tiles to fit Laura Ashley pebble decor strips into. I tried to fit one of these pebble decor strips today and it was a disaster.....
This is how I am trying to fit them:-

Going to fit a stone resin slimline shower tray (1200x900x40mm) to the bottom end of a bathroom to turn it into a shower room.
Never done this before so looking for advice - I presume I will have to make an opening in the floor (Chipboard by the way) to take the waste trap and give and connect...
