Hi All,
Got an interesting one in a couple of weeks, existing kitchen is tiled and new tiling flowing into new conservatory. Floor has been screed-ed but the bloke has not left me much height to play with even though it was requested he did. Currently I have height for adhesive and tile and...
I got about 40 m2 of porcelain floor to do.
concrete slab, insulation boards, heating wire, and tile. Do you screw or just glue insulation boards to concrete?
cheers.
What's everyone's preferred method of securing loose wire element to insulation board before slc?
obviously tape, but I think personally it covers too much floor.
Hi all

What is your current preference of electric underfloor heating insulation?
And where do you buy from? (I appreciate price is probably trade price so don't mention it if it is please - this is in the public forums)
I spent a bit of time this morning performing the tests. I performed the test on the garage screed, then 18mm WBP, 10mm Marmox then 6mm Marmox. I chose not to use any 20mm boards as realistically most of us never use them.
To ensure continuity the water (2 pints) was boiled then left one...
Hi All,
The bathroom is still coming along and despite loads of life issues slowing it down it's going well.
I discovered that installing 10mm Warmup insulations board would make my life easier in terms of installing the probe as opposed to digging through the already installed 6mm Hardi that...
Hi all, fairly obvious post as the title suggests. I'm beating myself up as 10mm would obviously provide more insulation (laid on solid chipboard floor in bathroom) but how much difference? Would really prefer to go with 6mm due to the step down to the landing carpet.
i can't seem to find any...
Hi all ,
Was looking at a job today where the sparx were fitting the UFH on insulation boards they had installed and tbh it looked a bit iffy.
Not being a fan of such methods I don't use the stuff on timber but had a couple of Qs for those that do.
1. Do you Screw AND glue or do...
hi, what is the absolute thinnest UFH insulation option to be used above a concrete floor with a porcelain tile top floor?
i don't really have enough room for a 6mm insulation board. i thought i could use a 2mm foam insulator but i just realised those have too much 'spring' and thus are...
