Hi all,
Thought I'd sign up and see if someone can offer me some advice...
I (stupidly) laid some porcelain floor tiles using a non flexible ceramic powered adhesive. A few of these tiles have come lose and when they have the backs of the tiles are clean of adhesive but I can see that they...
Newbie poster here, in search of advice. We had an extension built nearly 3 years ago, and a tiled floor with UFH throught the ground floor. I’m happy that both the builder and tiler knew what they were doing, and the overall quality of work is excellent, however we have a few loose floor...
We have prowarm electric mat laid on concrete base. Ceramic tiles 600x 150 mm laid on top. One tile makes a ‘cracking’ noise when walked on; assume this is a sign it is loose. The grout is still intact.
Is there any solution that doesn’t involve ripping my hall floor up.
There are two loose tiles on my bathroom floor . Any tips on how to fix this without buying 0kg or 20kg worth of adhesive ??
I plan on Mapei Keraquick Tile Adhesive which seems to come in 5kg and then mixing this with some pvc glue probably from poundland and then applying this to the back...
I've got the task of removing all the mosaic tiles as they are popping off, going ( was going) to replace with same original style mosaic, started stripping off and tiles are pinging off leaving all the old grout firmly bedded on... Originally thought the grout would just scrape off as well...
Turned up to a wet room that needed preparation done. The cable and sensor were connected to the mains but still on the spool ready to roll out 92 linear metres. Took advice from Impey, laid the water guard membrane and picked up the spool ready to set the cable. That's when the issue surfaced...
After a long search on the internet I managed to source some really well made loose wire underfloor heating wire clips. These are in fact galvanised steel banding with clips built in. I had to import a whole load for a few ufh projects I have and they have been an absolute God send! I also...
Hi All,
I'm after some advice on loose tiles. I had some grout that had fell out of the bottom layer of tiles over time. I got new but when I removed two tiles fell out! I got some adhesive out the shed and re-did the two tiles. They fell off so I assumed the adhesive had gone off as it was old...
Took this floor up last week, not even 6mm ply on the scene and she said the tiler was good .
But it had been down 20 years, few cracks and missing grout on the edges where there was a lack of adhesive.
Took all of 20 minutes to lift:)
Bloody mats, always springing up when you don't want them too despite staples and tape - you think you've got all the curly bits until you whack some SLC on and then up they come
So next time I'm going to try with loose laid cable - what are the preferred methods of holding the cable down...
Hello,
I am looking for a bit of advice regarding patches of loose concrete substrate on a floor I am looking to tile. I have included some pictures to show the general state of the substrate whilst also showing particular areas of concern.
I have recently lifted the downstairs laminate...
Hello everyone
My names Bob And was just wondering if anyone can help?
Recently moved into a new property which has been great, however, a small problem with our tiles in our shower cubicle.
Basically it looks like the tiles are starting to come off or something. Is it water getting behind...

First time poster. Hello all :)
We had a leak from our dishwasher, which has since been replaced. The problem is, I suspect that the leak went undetected for quite a while and has affected the surrounding flooring.
Some of the floor tiles near to the dishwasher 'flex' slightly and give off a...

I Have tiled several bathroom floors in the same house as well as their kitchen. They have had powerflow screed with underfloor heating. 4 months after tiling they have only just turned the underfloor heating on and the floors are loose. We spoke to the people who layed the screed they also said...

Hi
I have a floor tile that is loose on one end where this end is not flush with the surrounding neighbours but a couple of mm's higher. When you step on this end it will flex down to the flush level. The grout in this end is mostly loose and I have removed it. Is there anyway to fix this...
Slightly cheesed that a decent sized job has gone elsewhere..
Always a bugger when you have put a lot of work and time into quoting and finding tiles at a better price.
Shame as it was off the back of another job I did... They have found cheaper stone themselves and the shops own fitter...
Hi all, first time poster here.
last week I laid loose wire UFH on top of cement insulation boards, and then laid mapei renovation screed over the top. I went back today, and all seems well apart from one area that has only just covered the loose wire and the tape that was holding the wire...

I've recently drilled a couple of holes in my Mother's bathroom wall tiles to enable me to install a new striplight. Within a couple of days numerous tiles have become loose and a few have even cracked. Would my drilling have caused this? I presume it must have done as it seems too much of a...
