Hi all,
I will be tiling my bathroom this weekend and want to make sure I'm set up to get it all finished by Sunday evening.
The existing substrate:
18mm plywood
12.5mm marmox board
I'm fitting an electric underfloor heating mat and propose to use a self leveling compound and then tile...
Hello,
I am new here, need some help please.
I am tanking a small bathroom with Marmox multiboard or Wedi board (probably Marmox it is cheaper).
However there is a sloped ceiling which will partially be in the shower cubicle and get wet, it intrudes into the room quite far down to 150cm from...
I'm going to be installing marmox boards in my new bathroom onto the brick walls using the dot and dab and dowel fixing method but would just like to clarify what to do at the joints.
In wet areas I've read that you use the marmox waterproof sealing tape and dry/damp areas just self adhesive...
I was going to fix backerboards with a continuous bed of adhesive (presuming they're not too squiffy), or dot-and-dab plus fixings if they look nasty. The wall is a standard thermalite type block thing. Might be a silly question but do I need to prime the wall or is the adhesive all right to go...
Just about to line my en-suite out with Marmox boards onto the existing (new build) hardwall finish. Primed with Mapei G first and will use spankers/dowels but what's the consensus on dot n dab vs full bed of addy?
Will end up with 300 x 600 9mm porcs on top, but the spankers are there to...

I spoke to Mapei and they advised Eco Pro Grip +Keraquick + Latex - is that overkill?
Also is it possible to use slow setting adhesive to tile on Marmox ,like...
Hello all you lovely knowledgeable forum members! We are about to take on a bathroom refit, where one of the main reasons for doing so is to enable installation of a standalone shower (rather than just over the bath). It is a wooden floor, but the shower tray will fitted in a corner, and raised...

Hi all,
My marmox shower tray is quite lower than my floor tiles since laid so is it ok to build it up with adhesive and shape to the drain prior to laying the mosaics.
It's mainly on the back wall the porcelain mosaics are approx 8mm the floor tiles are 10mm and the difference from the shower...
I am planning to put down ceramic tiles on the garage floor (concrete slab), but want to insulate the floor first using 20 mm Marmox multi-board. What type of adhesive should I use for the tiles on top of the Marmox, given that it is a garage floor and will need to stand the weight of a car? I...
Can anyone advise me on whether I should prime marmox multiboard with BAL SBR before tiling using BAL Single Part Flexible adhesive or can I tile straight onto the boards.
Thanks

Hello,
A bit confused with variety of XPS backer boards. Wedi, Kerdi, Jacko, Dukka, Marmox - is there any real difference in quality between them? I have used Wedi before, it is great, but it is twice more expensive. I will use it for porcelain tiles on the walls, if it makes any difference.
Any...

Hi,
We (rather Other-half) had finally got to the last shower installation in out renovation - so far one wet room, one shower room and one bathroom (shower bath) this is going to be our en-suite.....eventually.....!
The bedroom is on the ground floor and has a concrete floor (no insulation)...
I’m looking to lay porcelain tiles in a kitchen diner (~22m2). I have a floating floor, which is not suitable for tile. I’ve been quotes for Ditra, but Ditra is for horizontal movement. My current sub floor is:
- Bison Block and Beam.
- 20mm insulation
- DPM (blue plastic sheet)
- 18mm...
Hi there folks, I'm a newbie to this forum so apols if I commit a gaffe or two. Quick question if I may, my plumber has offered me two choices regarding the construction of a wet room. Either Marmox sheets or moisture board which would then be tanked. After a bit of impartial advice as to which...

I am a diyer just about to redo shower room that I put in 15 years ago. I used plasterboard and a tray with up stands and built in valve. Tray never leaked but tiles and or valve has, making...
anybody got experience of using small mosaics, 25mm or so, on a showerlay tray? Marmox say it's ok for domestic use but their official word seems to be 50mm.
Any input welcome as my customer is set on a 25mm mosaic.

Having never done it, can you guys advise on a rough step by step guide for fixing marmox or hardie to different kinds of wall.
For studded and skimmed walls and for brick walls both plastered and not plastered. Need to know about the gluing and screwing for both instances.
Thanks in advance.
