I'm doing a bath panel on request of customer, using 18mm ply I know its pretty thick and it might be a tad heavy but the customer wants what they want.
My question is......Ply has been primed, tiles on. Came back today to grout and Silicon......only to find the ply has bowed! :mad2:
My client has a V&B bath (plastic) which doesn't have legs, it just sits into what is effectively a polystyrene box. The polystyrene panels are approx 50mm thick, and needless to say there's a fair amount of flex in the long side panel.
I thought it may have been some kind of packaging but...
I haven't removed the tiles yet but judging by the state of the grout/ silicon and the wall the other side of the shower , the substrate will need removing ( plaster board one wall and thin ply the other ) and I have recommended replacement with aqua panel .
I'm not afraid to say that in...
hi all
me again lol planing for my bathroom now and i wanted to tile the side of the bath where the panel would be, but thought i would have to make some sort of a service hatch just in case.
Its a shame as all my plumbing is surface ran apart from the rad. i was thinking of boxing it all...
Just curious.... what do you guys prefer to use when building a bath panel which is to tiled? I have to do one on Monday and I will use 2x2 for the frame and in the past I have used ply or aquapanel. Just wondering what you would do? Thanks.

Help please: the tiles are beginning to come off my bath panel, which was installed as a new bathroom a year ago. The grout started to crack after a only a couple of months. The tiler insists that he used flexible adhesive and that it is due to movement of the bath panel. Is he correct? What can...
