hi
I want to add a shower to a bath but the room only has wallpapered plasterboard, not sure what type.
Can I tank onto it, or strip the wallpaper first?
Thanks

Hi All,
I decided to strip all of the old plasterboard off the walls in my bathroom (as opposed to overboarding) and will be installing new plasterboard.
I will be tanking the shower enclosure with the Bal WP1 kit.
I will be fitting 600mm x 300mm porcelain tiles. Do I need to prime the...
Hi All,
We're currently looking at 600 x 300mm porcelain tiles for our bathroom. The majority of the room is currently painted skimmed plasterboard (which is attached to stud and exterior wall )
From reading other threads, it seems we may have some issue with the weight of the tiles?
Is there...
Hello,
Tried to read previous posts but all seem to say different things or depend on adhesive. Bathroom has been plasterboarded, I will be using Aquaseal Wet Room System to tank the shower area and around the bath.

Hi.
I have some plasterboards stuck to the wall. Pretty solid.
However, I need to just add maybe 4-6 screws each board into the wall to further secure.
How best do I do this? I tried a drill and screw with plug but no good.
Do I need a special type of plug or screw?
Thanks

Hi.
I am using a green plasterboard for my bathroom walls to tile onto.
I used dot and dab mix in my last house but what I want to know is if it is ok to use expanding foam type glue?
I have seen it done on plasterboard but not sure if its strong enough for 1) tiling onto or 2) suitable for...
Hi,
I have read several threads, but am still unsure of what to do with my bathroom.
I have 400mm x 400mm X 9mm porcelain tiles to use on my bathroom walls. The walls are bare brick, but uneven so I am going to batten them and screw boards onto this.
I haven't bought the boards yet, and was...
Hi all, been to a quote to put 600x300 travertine on walls in downstairs w/c.
I told customer I was concerned as the walls were plasterboard and I could not locate the battens behind the plasterboard.
Customer wants the tiles on the wall regardless.
Is there anything I could use like Wediboard...

Hi, looking for some quick advice about tanking plasterboard ready for tiling. The area is going to be a shower. What are you supposed to do with the screw heads that are not on a join? I'm using the mapei wpk, which gives no instruction on this point! Do I just paint the membrane over them...

Hi guys,
Hope you can help on this.
On a painted plasterboard can you tile directly on this?
I was thinking of scribingthe wall with a Stanleyknife every 2 inches so the adhesive has something to grip on, then rough sanding it and then cleaning it and using BAL Acrylic primer?
Or can I...
Hello All
Do you still need to prime Green plasterboard before tiling with a cement based adhesive & porcelain tiles 600mm x 300mm . I have primed the shower area & tanked with the Mapei Kit.
Thanks all
Got a wet room to tile inside the shower area and I'm unsure which substrate to use either Hardie backer board or moisture resistant plasterboard, two walls r brickwork one wall is studded
Hi Guys,
This is my first post so please be gentle! I will be as brief as I can
Basically I am creating 2 x new showers in a house (it’s a new student let house). One is a 800 x 800 corner unit, the other is a 1000 x 760 rectangular built in unit.

Hello,
I'm renovating my house which recently purchased, bathroom is currently back to brick as the old pb came off with the tiles.
So we are going to dot dab it and use appropriate pb.
Does this have to be waterproof pb all over the bathroom, or just the shower area? Also, does waterproof...
I normally remove paint before tiling by what ever means is best for the walls. I have just looked at a job which is painted plaster board. The boards have been taped and jointed then painted. The paint seems well adhered but i'm not sure about tiling on it. what are peoples thoughts.
Thanks
