I'm installing some acrylic shower panels onto Aquapanel. Ideally I'd like to seal the shower tray to the wall with Classi seal or similar then tank over before installing panels, for the best possible seal. The glossy acrylic panels I'm putting in (lustrolite) need a neutral cure Silicon...
hi all,
Newbie on the site but reading through your post has really helped.
A builder is installing an wet room in my new loft conversion. I wanted to know what’s the best system i.e tray and membrane or tray and roll on?

First time post to ask all you experts on here-thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
I have built a pizza oven (imagine an igloo shape) which I intend to tile with a glass mosaic type of tile which will need to be frost proof but not heat proof as I have loads of insulation in...
Excellent Tanking Product!
The kit comprises of :-
- Gloves
- Tanking coating (2.5kg)
- 10M of tape
- 2 x Internal corner pieces.
The system works really well and IMHO one of the best paint on membranes on the market. Arguably the best I have used.
No primer is required, you simply paint on...
This was toled 20 years ago and as you can see, it looks horrendous. I am compentent enough working around electric showers but never these type. O usually leave it to the plumber that works along with me however he's away on holiday for 4 weeks. I know the obvious answer would be, get another...
Just to split out from the thread origin.
Using 12.5mm MR board in a shower with a liquid tanking membrane. Or use a cement board such as Hardi and tank? Thoughts ?
What are the differences between a cement board from hardibacker and say aqua panel ?
Between the cement board and a shower tray...

Hi all, apologies if I have not put this is the correct place.
I am currently in the process of renovating my bathroom with new suite and 10mm ceramic tiles floor to top.
I have striped off my old tiles and I have been left with plasterboard in very poor condition where all the paper has been...
Just pricing up my own ensuite. The quote includes a 'tile safe' tanking kit - £300 and flexi wall membrane 8kg - £60
I don't mind the cost if it's worth it, but just want to check with those in the know if this stuff is good & worth the £360? Are there any brands you would recommend? Or am I...
What do you guys think of this?
INSTALLATION GUIDE: Impey WaterGuard - https://phpionline.co.uk/installation-guides/installation-guide-impey-waterguard/
When tanking a marine ply floor with a paint-on tanking product, should these type of waterproof pipe collars be used, or is the tanking enough? If used, would they go on before or after tanking product is applied?
Pipes would be going through the floor from bath, basin, radiator, toilet supply...
I had a bathroom installer around and he said that even if putting up Schluter Kerdi-Board on the walls, as it's not much more expensive to additionally tank it with a paint-on tanking product he would do that.
I was wondering if there's any drawbacks to this? Perhaps Schluter Kerdi-Board...
Is it correct that paint-on tanking products for a floor require more than one coat, with subsequent drying time between coats?
If that's the case, would I be correct in thinking that a waterproof matting product adhered to the floor timber before tiling is quicker to put in place?
Thanks.
Can I tile straight onto sand and cement render (with an spr coat) in a shower area? Or does it need tanking?
Am i correct in thinking its better without a finish coat?
Thanks

have done plenty of UFH electric mats under tiles, & plenty wetrooms with tanking.
However, I have never incorporated both..
Is tanking done under or over electric mat?
Is it ok to bring UFH mat onto shower former?
Cheers!
