Just ripped a shower out and the walls were standard ply just tiled straight on top (hence all the tiles falling off!). It would be handy to grab another couple of mm due to the new tiles being a lot thicker, so I was going to use 10mm Marmox board. Sounds like it's suitable according to Marmox...

Hi, I've just popped in from the plumbers forum to ask you experts..
I've ripped the remains of the skimmed stud wall plasterboard with tiles over from my shower alcove. It had a 760 tray and a false wall to fit. Without putting another false wall in I can fit a 800 tray in. But that leaves me...
I needed to replace 3 tiles and in removing the old ones the backer board has got damaged - the tiles were on Marmox board so it damages fairly easily. I'm guessing there is no way to effectively repair the board so I think the way forward would be to remove the existing board that is exposed...

Hi all
A customer has a 4m2 bathroom floor, which has floorboards down at the moment. They are fairly solid, so just a few extra screws into the joists to make 100%.
They have asked me to quote both with and without UFH, (first time I've been asked to lay UFH).
Im looking to overboard with...

Just seeing a clip on youtube where a guy was showing how to install floor tiles and he was using a cement backer board ontop of a concrete/sand cement floor. Im wondering how common is this. The reason why i ask this is that when working on site all these years, i have never once seen a tiler...
Good evening all. I'm starting 2 bathrooms on of which has 22mm chipboard fixed to the joists and the other has 18mm ply, fixed to joists. Both floors are solid. I've used hardie in the past and found it to be ok to use. I've read a lot about marmox and dukkaboards to overlay which is...
Is it okay to Dot n Dab 6mm Marmox to walls (screw fixing through the dabs) or does it need to be thicker than the 6mm?
Edit. Answered my own question - Marmox web site says 12.5mm for dot n dab, any thickness for continuous bed.
