Good morning, Gents
I'd really appreciate the advice of experienced members here. I've been doing a small barn conversion in Kent for myself for the past 7 years and it's still nowhere near complete. I think I probably have OCD and this is only getting worse.
The footprint of the building is...
Apologies this is so long winded, but hopefully you're an understanding bunch & you'll stick with the novel and provide a straight opinion on this.
I'm a competent DIY'er (ex-spark), but it's a while since I've done any DIY tiling at home. I'm now re-doing the kitchen floor/walls in a 1960’s...
have done plenty of UFH electric mats under tiles, & plenty wetrooms with tanking.
However, I have never incorporated both..
Is tanking done under or over electric mat?
Is it ok to bring UFH mat onto shower former?
Cheers!

I’ve been impressed by the professional attitude of posters here so wonder if I might take some advice on my refurb project.
It’s a 300m2 bungalow, mixed 60s/90s extension, solid floor.
I’m a power wheelchair user and destroyed our old house hardwood floors in short order so am going...
what's your thoughts? Went to do a repair on a quartz floor with UFH to help someone out and found this Look at the pics, showed the customer that the tiles were all buckled like bananas but still had to lay them as he had no more,Now he's complaining that they are not very flush ? Had told him...
Hi.
I'm currently building a single floor rear extension that will have UFH, I'm pretty confident about the extension UFH. 100mm insulation, 70mm screed, etc. My question is about the existing kitchen and dining room that will become one open plan space as part of the extension.
The make up of...
Hi I am in the middle of a house extension which will include a new main bathroom and ensuite (see attached diagrams). I have selected 30 x 60 porcelain tiles from a local supplier but not purchased these as yet. I'm also looking to install underfloor heating (either to be quoted for or laid...
Hi I joined and posted on this forum little while ago regarding our bathroom and ensuite wetroom designs - you guys were really helpful and your input really helped us improve the design and make sure the builders have prepared the room correctly. The rooms are nearly formed so we're getting...
Hi,
We have been in our house a few years but noticed as soon as we moved in that the tiles were loose, with grout cracking. Over the years we've had to replace tiles that crack. We now want to relay the entire floor with porcelain tiles.
We have a suspended wooden floor and as far as i...
In a new build with ufh and liquid screed throughout, I have two bathrooms to tile. First bathroom is straightforward enough and have primed and laid ditra mat. The second is to be converted to a wetroom as the buyer of the property is disabled.
Was going to build a frame on the level part of...
I am looking for a floor tiler in the Liverpool/Widnes area (Hale Village) that can tile a larger 70+m2 floor area.
I want someone that has previously tiled over Wundafloor underfloor heating.
This is a wet UFH system that uses foam backed boards laid over timber floors.
They have a couple of...
I have a 52m kitchen/diner/hall floor to tile in a couple of weeks (600x600) Its over electric UFH . Their sparky has already fitted insulation boards and warmup matting . I will be self levelling on top to encapsulate the cables . Is their a minimum mm height you have to go above the cables ...

Laid isoscreed/anhydrite at 65mm on the 21/3/17 Ina new build property over underfloor pipes laid into inserts
Screed has since been sanded ready to receive the floor tiles.
Question is do I need to switch the ufh on? And if I do for how long (a day or a week etc)
Sorry for the...

I need to quote for a job, as the title says........over wet UFH between joists. Much the same as the link I've put up.
Insulation, fitted between joists.....pipes laid, maybe with or without spreader plates. (Not sure as yet which way customer is doing this) then the floor would be overlaid...
Hi,
I am tiling into a Concrete floor, then 25 mm fibre board, water based ufh and 6mm ply! Rang Bal tech and they won't guarantee it or recommend any adhesives. Does anyone on here have any ideas?

So Gary and I have come down to Hastings to inspect a large Porcel-thin floor that is failing.
On seeing the floor for the first time it appears to be laid with care and the fitter, (builders son) appears to have done a half decent job.
But there are issues, a few have cracked and some tiles...
Hi all, I'm hoping you can advise me on a few things.
We have recently had underfloor heating installed. All was going well however whilst the builder was fitting the system, I noticed that he was using Everbuild 708 levelling compound to embed the wires. I could see anywhere on the packet...
Hi all, been browsing through the forum trying to find a definitive answer. I'm in the process of qouting for a 33m2 floor. The floor is not ready yet, but it will be 22mm wbp plywood primed on all surface and then down directly on to the joists, noggins will be added and bricks built up under...
I have a floor to put down and I'm after reassurance regarding procedure.
Anhydrite floor with a 1200x600 porcelain tile on it.
so.... prepare the floor with a machine to take the surface crystals off (about 2mm) then prime with a suitable anhydrite floor primer, ill probably use bal. lay ditra...
Floor tiling directly onto retrofit wet UFH overboard.
Eg. Cellecta HiDeck 18, Polypipe Overlay, WundaTrade EPS 400
They are designed to go onto existing concrete and can take stone tiles without any screed, or so they claim.
Anyone had experience of floor tiling directly onto these type of...
