Hi all
I have a Roman shower cubicle tray which is made of a stone resin compound.
The walls are unfilled travertine which desperately need cleaning.
I have bought LTP Grimex, but I don't know if it's safe to use as it will undoubtedly come into contact with the shower tray.
Does anyone know if...
I’ve made some slight measurement errors and ended up with a relatively large joint/gap between the top of my Hardiebacker board and the ceiling (see pic). The joint is 12mm at its widest.
With the other walls, the joint was much smaller (~2-4mm) so I’ve been able to caulk those, but I’m not...
I keep this to hand now so I can show customers

Hi
I've just finished grouting my porcelain tiles with a grey grout. I gave them a good sponge over but now they're drying there's grey haze over the tile.
Do I just wait for the grout to dry then go over with sponge and water again or do I need some kind of acid based product?
Thanks
Hope to find the pictured tiles: the green/olive one Gres Catalan; 10x10 cm, different shades of green; product of Spain: the white bumpy tile is made in Brazil, also 10x10 cm; both types were bought 10-13 yrs ago at MBA Tiles and in Topps Tiles. We need 20 green tiles and 30 (or 50) white...

Hi and thanks for letting me post on here. Sorry if this is a long post, trying to just do the main points as it's been a bit of a nightmare.
The problem is with the wall tiles in our new bathroom. It was tiled last July with British Ceramic Tile V&A tiles. These are ceramic 152mm x 152mm.
We...
Hello, long time reader, first time poster.
I'm getting a new bathroom suite and re-tiling the floor and walls and need advice as to the best way forward. I'm an experienced amateur having renovated a few properties over the years, simple bathrooms, kitchens toilets and the like with no...
Hi everyone, I need some clarification on wall prep before I begin tiling. I have tiled three rooms before over the years, but didn’t realise how much of a Pandora’s box tiling the bathroom would be! I have been looking on this forum for answers for a couple of weeks, there are lots of very...
Hello all,
I know it's not best practice to tile onto painted walls especially when using large format tiles. My question is this - if you Dot and Dab onto painted walls does this not create a similar issue of the paint being behind the plasterboard adhesive - is this why mechanical fixings are...
good morning all, I’ve got a customer who’s had a shower installed in their bathroom when there was only a bath before. The plumber has chased the pipe work for the shower into the walls. It’s an old property and the walls aren’t the best! My question is can you still use a waterproofing kit on...
I've committed to my first 450 herringbone job - will be 3 walls of a shower enclosure with little 2x6 inch tiles.
Lots of advice out there tells you to find the midpoint of the wall and keep the tile points to this plumb line:
From all the google images of jobs where this has been done I...
Evening all, hope this finds you well. Just a quick question.. What is the best method of making good walls once old tiles have been removed? And what’s the preffered method to removing old adhesive? Many thanks in advance, Stu.
Hi, my first post on here. I am looking at fitting thin concrete panels on my bathroom and shower wall. Has any one used them before?
The ones I was looking at are either Concreate or https://livingconcrete.co.uk/concrete-panels
The livingconcrete type say you can use them on a wall by fixing...
ok so i read a post from Paul C on weight limits, that went:
Wall Substrate Maximum Weight of tiling per m2
Gypsum Plaster 20Kg/m2
Gypsum Plasterboard Direct (without a plaster skim) 32Kg/m2
Plywood (WBP) Up to 30Kg/m2
Lightweight Tilebacking Boards Up to 40Kg/m2. Dependant on the type and...
Hi everyone.
Thanks for all the advice so far, its going pretty good considering i'm a sparky!!!;)
Going to start to tile the walls and have got 600 x 300 porcelain tiles (Topps Regal Vanilla ones)
Ok so the walls are skimmed plasterboard on the dot and dab and studwork and the tiles weigh 25kg...
Hi all, I'm not much of a forum poster, and am also new here to this one.
Additionally, in pre-admission, I'm no professional tiler (although I've successfully performed various vast scale tiling jobs at home), just an avid DIYer.
My situation which lead me to post here revolves around me...
I know this has been asked lots before but I cannot find (after reading the White Book and 'Site Book Tiling) where the information regarding loadings for plasterboard are listed. I found plenty for Glasroc H.
The question came up as a colleague of mine has boarded his bathroom with MR 12.5mm...
