Hi All,
I am planning how to tile around my window, but the vent at the top is causing me a bit of a headache. It is too smaller gap to be able to slide a tile in behind. Tiling right up to the vent would prevent it opening (it slides accoss and out). Have any of you tiled around one of these...
Morning chaps,
Finally started tiling the bathroom yesterday (brazilian black slate) so far it's gone to plan but I'm getting to a small window and need some advice would you use a edging trim

Hi,
For some reason when my house was built about 17 years ago the builders put tiles on every window ledge apart from the 2 kitchen window ledges.
We are now having upvc replacement windows fitted and want to obtain some tiles to match all the others.
The tiles have a rounded top front edge...
Hello to everyone this is my first post.
Not being totally thick over the years I have managed to conquer most tiling jobs to a reasonable standard, however I am having a thick moment on this one and need some advice.
I have a downstairs w/c and intend to tile the walls and floor, the...
I am tiling travertine in a brick pattern. I will be wrapping this around the walls as best as I can. I have done a window ledge and followed the pattern, but am wondering whether or not to follow this for the window verticals.
I have two windows in my bathroom. Three of the inside verticals...
All,
I am started tiling with my travertine tiles and am wondering which is the best way to approach the window ledges.
I have already decided that I will be using a butt joint for them and then chamferring the top edge off.
Should I be laying the "ledge" down first and then measuring and...
Hi i am doing a bathroom and the problem the customer has was that where her shower was pointing into the bath when she has a shower quite a bit of water ends up on the window sill which has resulted in the sill being sodden and water coming in in the kitchen from the ceiling.
What can i use to...
Just a quick question i have a window ledge to tile it takes two 10cm tiles on the flat ledge but i have a quarter inch gap left over whichever way i put tiles, hopes this makes sense thanks for any suggestions
hi all, i went to north east tiling to do my training and i was shown how to tile round a window correctly. i was shown a method on how to also even up the window buy using tiles but since then i have forgotten how to do it due to doing jobs without ever attacking the windows! anyone able to...
My last job i had some really bad window reveals so thought i'd do my bit and take some pics on how to rectify them. No doubt some will use the same method but for those that dont, here goes.
This is what i was faced with and the thought of them being packed out with adhesive didnt really suit...
Just doing a bit of market research here, how many of you have a window cleaner and what do they charge you? Are they traditional window cleaners or do they use pure water system? The reason i ask is I'm thinking about setting up a window cleaning business as i need a new challenge...and i know...
I'm just coming to the end of tiling my kitchen splashback, and am a bit stuck as to how to layout the tiles in the window reveal. See attached pic - i am using 3 different coloured tiles - grey, brown and cream, set in sequence and staggered by one on each row so they run diagonally up.
The...

In Coventry I use to pay 6-7 pounds for my windows to be done once every two weeks (I think the guy was claiming benefits)
I just called a few window cleaners up and they charge 20 pounds or so, anyone know how I can clean them without getting on a ladder. I think over 400 pounds a year for...
these are pictures from a bathroom i have to re-do in january!
this was done 2 years ago and the guy who done it as you can see decided not to level the room(as seen on window sill corners)and make a total mess under the sill, apart from that the tiling throughout the whole bathroom is to a...
Hi all,
I have a couple of retrospective questions and would like to pick your brains. I have just completed a kitchen that had a large bay window. Having tiled up the side to the top I put another batten up to keep my level accross and to support the tiles as they were reasonably heavy, I...
