No need to prime the no more plymate, it's a cement board

Just found a link, they say prime the surface to be tiled

The Home Of No More Ply Please read

I saw that Whitebeam, this is what confused me, the SBR says "An ideal board primer used prior to tiling newly laid boards"

Not to worry though, I'll prime both. Scottley's tip was excellent, so will do that and also prime the board.

For my concrete, will Mapei Primer G be ok for that ?

One other thing (then I'll give you guys a rest from my questions bombardment)

Would the left or right pic be the best placement for the screws in the no more ply board ?

Guys, I'm desperate for some help, it's gone past 4am and I'm really worried about what I have done. I started a floor today, it's one of the chipboard ones, it got 2 coats of primer and all was going well. I got some sheets of no more ply ready and started to lay them, the first few were fine then I noticed a sqeek when standing on them, I really don't know what's happened but now I have created a squeeky floorboard :-( I'm worried, I don't know how to fix it and I can't sleep

The squeek is not coming from a piece of no more ply I just laid, it's coming from the opposite end of the room, I used a spirit level before and after fitting, the no more ply is totally flush. Have I possibly, while screwing in the screws, pulled up a bit if the chipboard away from the joists, hense walking on it, it is now squeeking ?

This is weird, I was walking on the floor there and all I'm getting now is a tiny squeek I'm not sure if I'm just getting expansion due to heat and now the house being a little cooler just now but it's certainly better than last night but not completely away - I have a joiner coming later tonight just to have a look. The screws I used mike were the recommended 25mm ones that no more ply want you to use for the 6mm board, thanks for your help :) will let you know how I get on later :)

Some chipboard is ringshank nailed down, these dont pull the board down as much as screwing it, hence why we screw them down. If you know where the joists are and you are SURE there are no cable or pipes then you can fix longer screws throught the NMP and the chipboard into the them. That would sort it. The squeak was probably always there but not noticed until ou laminated the board with the NMP
