I agree with all above, can't be to carefull. If this guy has a regular tiler, in the present climate I think he would be doing it. sounds a bit dodgy to me
I ended up softening a bit and quoted with mats but excluding grout, so total £2750....had an email back yesterday that this is over double his other quotes and with 2 tilers working together! He has been quoted with all materials. Now thats about £30 sq/m all in. Maybe calling my bluff, I don't know but I can't see it getting anything other than a 'rush' job for that rate and how are 2 guys going to possibly make a reasonable profit on that? Anyway, I have sent a polite email back and on to the next one!
