Well done Cappsie, nice job so far. I must say your walls don't seem to run out very much, you are a touch fortunate as you appear to have full tiles into the corners. That could have caused you problems if the walls weren't straight.

It is normal to try and have a cut into the corners so you can follow the line of the wall closely to get a nice finish.

I'm not being critical here you are doing a good job, just trying to give pointers.

hmm trim... nope.

I didn't put any trim on - I'm now thinking that was a bit of an unplanned oversight :)

Guess I'll have to mega grout that bit ;)

Srtaight lines were a pain tho :)
you can get a chrome matwell 90 angle trim...will plant on around the window after grouting ...this will look planned....Gaz

Hey nice one!! ok how would I affix it? Perhaps just Silicon or something?
----
Oh one other thing - using the BAL grouting they say to leave it to dry for at least 24 hours - what is the best time 24 hours ok or perhaps more?

Yea just Silicon it on, and leave the grout over night...dosn't appear that water is hitting it that far up the wall so don't panic.......Gaz

Not a bad finsh at all but.......... I would think you fell into a slight trap regarding setting out.
Most new tilers do this when they see the opportunity to have full tiles across any wall. It seems you have done so too.
My approach would have been to start from the Architrave and have the cuts in the corners. I would have also gone past the diamond shaped window as i feel it looks a bit odd the way it is.
Just my opinion mate, dont take offence and at the end of the day, if its your bathroom then its your choice.
Nice to see you have kept the tiles and joints clean and polished up nicely.:hurray:

Hi

No offence taken :)

I appreciate all the advise and you're right - had I thought more about the silly diamond window and less about the convenience of the tiles fitting into the wall perfectly, then I might have done as you did ;)

Oh the reason the tiling stops halfway over the diamond window was so that it was kept inline with the bath - the picture omits that unfortunately :/
