i would tell him you are going to sue him send him a letter and then do nothing else

Those things need levelling with the help of a van and then concrete the area so he can't dig new holes

for someone that is desperate to keep people off his property he seems to have no problem standing on next doors roof or placing his 'keep out' sign half way over the other neighbours boundry line

So what's the latest with the post? I take it by now (If you didn't fix it) that he's noticed whether you've told him or it was left like that. I totally feel for you. There's nothing worse than a grumpy old neighbour

Oh OK so latest update is that I managed to prop it up with rocks and pebbles (used a broom to sweep dust into the cracks)

So its weighed down with dirt at the moment. Spoke to his neighbour and she said he goes away for Christmas on the 20th December for weeks.
At the moment its "leave it" and see if he notices.

If we get to Dec 20th without incident I MIGHT just MIGHT try to lash up a base plate and fix it down.

I'd remove the lot when he goes way and play dumb to them ever being there, see if he loses the plot totally and agrees with you that he muast have dreamt it.

Why go to any expense? He's cost you enough grief, time & money as it is. I agree with the above. Remove it when he's gone & deny all knowledge
