Bad advice from Topps again

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Been to look at a bathroom and the customer was told by a salesman at Topps that he can overboard with moisture resistant chipboard, needless to say have told him to take it up and replace with backerboard,he is not very impressed with the advice they gave him .I think someone is in for a ear bashing tomorrow when he goes to Topps.

Customer trying to save money by doing the prep work then. Probably used 8 nails to attach chipboard to existing floor. Saying that, there is no excuse from Topps. In fact, the sales person was probably standing next to a massive pile of overpriced Hardiebacker boards whilst dishing out incorrect advice.

Oh dear. Anyone ever noticed on the hardie backer display at topps it shows a pic of it being nailed to a wall?

Topps is all about sales and a very miniscule commission. Why would a member of staff point the guy to a product that is not even sold at topps rather than hardie. Makes no sense. Customer probs done it himself

Well I do believe him in, my local topps they dont know the first thing that they are talking about,I have stood in there and have listen to them giving customers bad advice,to be honest try and steer customers away from them, get them to go to CTD or Tile Giant much better sales people.

I'm not doubting the facts afight... Just giving my ten pence worth.

I wouldn't listen to any salesman about the fixing of anything. Tiles. Wood. Windows. Paint.
