Hi All,

Just been laying a floor 600x300 porcelain, not sure where the tiles came from but boxes were very old and at first glance although quite thin, didn't appear bowed. Having leveled floor and layed first couple of rows and started to notice slight lipage in the place on attached drawing, if I adjust the height to remove it the problem just reoccurs on the next and so on, was doing my head in a bit to be honest. They wanted them brickbond half set. It's as if the tiles are bowed but with a level they seem flat-ish. Can tiles be bowed on the under side?

Any thoughts?

You may have to give them a wider joint.
If that doesn't work as above!
Sounds as though it's too late now.

Check tiles as above, if bowed your gonna struggle with anything more than quarter bond.. If the tiles are ok did you get your first row perfectly flat with a straight edge across? Cuz if that ain't right your going to struggle right across the floor..

This happens a lot ,bit crazy as made for brick bond ,i just show client ,they normally ok as not your fault ,

U only need a 1mm bow from centre to give u 2mm at the intersection of the other two.

Excellent technical drawing Robbie! I am with the others here. Always worth checking for curvature before starting, show customer, and suggest options (e.g 1/4 or 1/3 overlap or wider joints).
