Re: customer street

I must have had around 7 or 8 different companies like this phone me in the last couple of months, all promissing 20 to 30 enquiries a month or more, all for a tiny £300 joining fee, bargain !!!

Going by that, I'd have spent around £2400 on join up fees and be fielding that many calls I wouldn't have the bloody time to actually get out of the house to get any work done, hurahh !!!

The best ones are when they say for £350 you'll be the ONLY tiler on our books for the whole of Lancashire, so you'll get every single tiling job out there, even the ones that don't know they want tiling doing.

Who could possibly say no ?

Re: customer street

every1 take note customer street is just UFINDUS but with a new name
they had to change the name coz the rep of ufindus was so bad
i worked for this organisation for a long period and i can comfirm it is a rip of
they will promise enquiries but all these are is people including staff and managment searching the directrys
STAY WELL CLEAR
my advice would be to stick to local newspapers and if you feel the web may work 4 u then work only with search engines as directorys other than YELL dont work
Customer street may promise top page on google and other search engines but they rarley deliver
Good luck

Re: customer street

All of the cold callers get the same response. I turn the telly off, or mute it. put the phone down, and go take a poo, make a cuppa, bla bla, whatever. They are rarely there when i get back...

If they are, i then try to convert them to Islam (in a cockney accent  ) Beware the tilers jihad.....

(no offence intended to anyone who may be offended)

Re: customer street

I just say yes to all of them with the proviso they give me three months for nothing and if all their claims come true I will give them a two year contract, Please discuss this with your manager and ring me at 9am tomorrow morning if you wish to proceed. They never call back:yes:

Some other answers for you without being rude to them! Because as you all know they always ring when the large format tile just won't sit right or you have just mixed the new batch of rapid set etc etc

Do you have double glazing? No I have triple glazing actually what did you want? Click!!!!

Can I speak to the person who deals with the phone bill; You are! How much is your mobile a year? £24! No I said a year! That is a year! Click!!!!

Can I speak to the person who deals with the company fuel bill? Yes thats me! How much do you currently spend on fuel per annum? £240! Same scenario as telephone.

It's polite and they get off the phone quick and you are back working IMO

I have a golden rule if I want to buy something! I approach them! End Of!!!!!

Re: customer street

Hi Team

Well that's a shame... I have only been participating here for a short period and to date have found everything that I have read to be interesting and useful. The purpose of this thread was surely to warn other tiles of this scam and ensure that no one was taken in by it - interesting and useful! Now we have someone who wants to appear to be rightous by slagging off others for their contribution when he contributes nothing? Having spent time reading the entire thread and "have more important things to do than winge like a woman in a trade forum" how comes HE has posted the longest response and frankly said nothing constructive that has contributed in any way?

Mate contribute something interesting and useful, put in and I am sure you will get back. Slagging of others is unhelpful, this is not facebook!!!

Just my twopenneth...

Re: customer street

tiler like you m8 but have more important things to do than winge like a woman in a trade forum

You really are an uppity little man aren't you! If you have better things to do with your time then what are you doing replying to this thread ? TWICE! let alone reading it? May I suggest you go and do something more constructive than insulting members of the opposite sex and curb your masoginistic ways on this forum!
In the politest possible terms

project damager I wrote my post before I read yours. It seems we were both thinking along the same lines. Well said from you! This forum doesn't need attitudes like that!

Re: customer street

All,
I am ashamed to admit I was one of the poor few who got a call from CS and was sucked in. I have a nice website (did most of it myself after downloading their software) and im rightly up the google rankings. 270 starting fee and 35 a month, minimum term 12 months.
Anyway, site has generated 2 calls, one from too far away and the other looking to purchase tiles! So for me in and around Belfast this has proved a website does not genetate work as a rule. It may be useful as a gallery, for marketing and promotion etc but it will not make your phone ring.

AVOID them, from someone who knows!
