Re: customer street

I assume when CS call its on a withheld number. I myself will not answer withheld numbers. If they want you to contact them they could leave a number on the answerphone. I dont want to be talking to canvassers or even worse, serial killers, peados, terrorists, or government officials. You could be talking to any of these without having a choice. I think alot of world problems will stop if they get rid of withheld numbers .lol.

Re: customer street

I've had calls from CS, too!
They usually start with "Are you a tiler doing walls and floors?" or "Could you handle more work?", I generally reply with "I'm fully booked for the next 2 and half months", they say "what happens after that?", I say "This is the quietest I've ever been", they usually get bored and put the phone down now.

Re: customer street

I made the mistake of going with this bunch and quite bluntly they are liars and cheats. You will be tied into a years contract with them. You will have a no1 position should somebody type in "I am looking for a tiler called bob/sam /tony (whatever your name is) in purley" . If however they type in anything else, tough. My web address differed by one letter from the webpage they created for my biggest competitor.
In short it is not exclusive, you cannot cancel, and it will get you no business, they lie and lie and lie.

Run Screaming. Or google them ....

Re: customer street

I had it last month were i got a call asking me some question for a survey, at the end of the call she asked me for a password such as mothers maiden name.

A few days later i revieved a call asking me if i could settle up with this £249.00 advertising bill because it was going to print the next day.

I said i had no recolection of this advertising i ordered and would not pay.
She then quoted the FALSE password that I had made up a few days earlier saying i gave them that so i would remember them.

Then the penny dropped!

After politly telling her to shove her bill where the sun don't shine she threatened me with court action baliffes and the lot.

You really have to be careful these days as if i were a bigger outfit somebody else would have just paid that out of company accounts.

Re: customer street

when i first started i got a call from a company called, u find us. they told me to have my diary clear withih about 7 days and expect loads of work. the cost was about the same £270ish plus £35 a month for 12 months. for this they give you your own web site, but the selling point for me was expect loads of work 12 months later and about £600, not one phone call. and if you say yes on the phone its a contract. i learned a expensive lesson.:furious3:

Hey Cats
Phoned today by some company called Customer Street(never heard of them).Stated that they had 181 people in my area looking for a tiler and asked if i was interested in paying an initial up front price followed by a monthly premium and for such a bargain i would get definite tiling jobs and great advertising space online.Having never heard of this mob, being new to this game(therefore sceptical and reserved)and scottish(the thought of parting with money for no good reason being to hard to swallow)i asked them firstly give me some of the postcodes so that i could confirm that they were indeed in my area, failing that the street names no numbers, again so i could confirm the proximity to myself, lady i was talking with said that she couldnt do this.Secondly i askedif she could confim what county not only myself but these alleged 181 customers were located, again said lady was not willing to do this.My retort was that i was not willing to part with any money for any reason with them and not to contact me again. Have spent a little while now trawling through posts from last year only to discover that this company really are a bunch of clowns and my initial scepticism was accurate.Again good information on the forum allowing me to feel better about my response.Cheers GazTech

Hi tulsa....Register with the TPS ( Telephone Preference Service ) and after about 28 days you should get no more calls , if you do then take there name and company name and put a complaint into the TPS and they will contact them to get your number removed from there data base......works with any cold callers....Mention the TPS and they hang up........

Click link to register.... broken link removed
