no but he said the bloke said it would take 4 days where as he said 7-9, and thats where i said about the prep, insinuating that the bloke doesnt understand the prep takes takes time,

All i have to do is prime, tile, grout, seal and form shower bases as he dont want to buy proper formers. Bad mistake imo.

i think it's a very very fair price mate?
we are going to have this problem this year more than last due to tradespeople 'panic pricing' ..
i really hope that customers stop and think before they go for cheap quotes..
their cheap for a reason??? they say desperate times, desperate measures but silly low prices is not the way to go.
you devalue the market
you devalue your own skills and self worth
you end up cutting corners which in turn affects the quailty
and finally, you devalue THEIR PROPERTY!
keep prices fair but not cheap!!! this trade is hard enough and time consuming enough as it is....
we have had enough consumer programmes on like watch dog highlighting what can GO WRONG so surely the whole of the uk should realise by now that cheap quotes = expensive repocussions 9, 10ths of the time...
anyway, i and most on here have more respect for our skills that we wouldnt do any of our customers the injustice of cheap workmanship,,
your high standards, your family and your health are priceless, why lower any of them.
customers must be prepared to pay a good price for a good job or they will find themselves on here posting about 'why my job went wrong'.....

yea, but can you understand why i said about the prep, and why it would take you longer than the 4 days the client said. i dont if sir ramic was being funny then, but i new what i wanting say, it may of read wrong to the way i wrote it

I was quite enjoying this thread until this comment!
How you manage to get from you being a Leicester fan to him being a Geordie and this makinga difference to your estimate is beyond me!
