hiya chaps ,hope your all well, im 46 ,live in deal,kent, bit of a clever dick with my hands, rebuilt a few classic cars, a full size dalek from scratch, love playing in my garage, been groundworking for over 20 years, and finding it hard going lately, been wanting out for a while,

got my chance when i collapsed on site last month and was seconds away from cardiac arrest, 8 days in hospital gave me time to think im done with groundworks, ive taken a 12 month payment break from the mortgage and gonna try going on my own tiling ,amonst other things

allways been pretty good at most diy, but wanted to learn a few pro tips so had a week off work last year and paid for a 5 day tiling course at able skills in dartford,best £350 i ever spent

anyway ,im as green as they come so looking for any advice in all aspects of this great trade,cya soon muckers ,steve

Welcome to our forum Steve, hope you are on the mend. Not the best time to start off but being 'multi skilled ' is a bonus. I keep my head about water by taking almost anything on when customers say, "quite regulary' do you know anyone who can do this?' Don't advertise that as you come across as a jack of all trades as opposed to a specialist. Best of luck matey

thanks alot muckers, being going thru the searchy bit, some awesome bits of info and knoledge on here for greenies like me, just gotta get my hospital treatment out of the way then im advertising in the local paper,only got my cards in windows at the mo ,cos ive been happy with the odd job for cash,cheers again boys and girls,steve

take it easy mate, i had 6 minor heart attacks before i collapsed at work one day

i thought it was a touch of heartburn and carried on

ive had the op and im back at work but im still a bit sluggish some days

no more big greasy fry ups for you .....................its all grilled from now on
