you need to take it easy Steve. glad to hear you're ok. mark said it was a cardiac arrest, is that different from a heart attack? I've just been reading up and it says it happens when the heart rhythm is disturbed and functions chaotically. do they know what caused it?

hiya GR , its electrical, u got a current that runs round your heart which pulses causing it to beat,i have scarring and hardning which is interuping the smooth flow of the current ,its now erratic

this is causing ventricular tachycardia, a fast unstable beat ,if it gets to fast for too long the heart goes into vetricular fibrilation,it trembles,only for a few moments ,and finally packs up,cardiac arrest

they reckon it could be due to alcohol abuse,im not an alky, but from the age of 15 ive drunk a lot of beer.........different now tho

well the scarring and hardening around your heart could have been caused by booze, but also cigarettes, poor diet and so on.

at least you know now and can do something about it

I have high blood pressure and I have to make sure the arteries around my heart don't harden otherwise it could prevent blood flowing to my heart and pow, cardiac arrest!

time to exercise more and eat better, and generally look after yourself properly :hurray:
