Hi guys,

Check out the link below

Thought you might be interested to know that following the UK Government's freedom of information act you can now get access to ALL speed camera offences registered in the l ast 12 months.

Did you know that every time your car goes past a speed camera, even 1mph over the set limit, it is registered and put on a database?

You only get a ticket if you are way over the limit or, (this is the bit that I didn't know) if you receive over 10 near misses, you will be classed as a serial offender and get a ticket the next time you go just over the limit. This is why you hear of people being done for 34mph in a 30mph limit area, whilst others doing 39 do not.

Check out the link below to see if you have been caught.
Just enter your car registration. If there is any data on your vehicle you can click on the camera window to see a copy of the photograph.

Different police forces start summery fines at various levels of speed. The Met will prosecute a 30 mph at 35 mph as an example. 40 mph at 47 mph etc its on a % and for the life of me I can't remember the Met policy, well it has been 7 years!!

Actually its 10%+2mph leeway . So 30mph zone means camera will go off if you do 35mph. 70mph zone means camera will go off at 79mph. Thing is, you dont know how far out of sync your speedo is with the camera, so to do 79mph is risky business.

The average speed cameras are the worst though, and the most productive in terms of generating money by far.
