Just out of curiosity, 50sqm with 2mm gaps, could there be an issue with not enough expansion options? Causing a form of tenting?

I agree 2mm joints not enough with ufh imo welcome.

hi the room in which the tiles have lifted is about 23sqm,i should have explained it goes into 3 rooms.i have now lifted 9 tiles, the tiles around the ones i have lifted are sound and firmly stuck ,what should i use to stick these 9 tiles back down.

i would use mapei keraquick white on them,and even to be safe mix with the latex additive.
Better safe than sorry.

did these tiles come from an online supplier based in Newcastle by any chance?

There's been a lot of discussion from the experienced ones here that helped me stay clear of a certain outfit in Crook, Co Durham for supply of the quartz tiles I have just fitted.

I'm no experienced tiler, just a keen DIY'er, but heating resin based tiles is not good. Ceramic/porcelain tiles are dimensionally stable to hundreds of degrees of heat (probably not the adhesive though), but the resin in these quartz tiles will soften and possibly shrink a little bit when subjected to heat, causing the tiles to curl.

There's no way tiles such as these should be used for under floor heating - would you put a plastic plate in an oven to warm up a dinner?
