i have mates up in aberdeen too,. they tell me the same thing, they cant find a tiler up there. im really thinking about pulling my caravan up there during the week if i can get the work, im going to look into that. start advertising up there i think. from my girlfriends place to eberdeen is only about an hour so could maybe even commute there. cheers guys. a lot to consider there. :8:

How do we survive?
Week by week.
Have been very busy though, working 7 days a week for the past 3 months with only a few days off.
But, now we get to work harder and longer for even less.
The story we get from the store we work through is that we have to be competitive:yikes: and we see lots of crews coming in looking for work.
30 so far in the past couple months, which is more than they have seen there for 11 years.
So we adapt and every job has become a negotiation at pay day.
Fortunately, they like us and our consistent work quality, but we are open to opportunity.
This intentionally manufactured economic crisis sucks. :mad2:

this year has been a nightmare since dec, ive done 2 pools and a few domestics since december now even those have dried up or the companys have gone bust

well i finally had two calls this week, one is genuine and the other is from a nieghbour. got the quote i done last night and quoting the other on friday. hope this keeps up.
