400k for an extension – very seriously I can build two nice four bedroom detached houses for that money! ... so bearing that in mind IF it does all go wrong the customer will be heavy hitting on the legal front. Unfortunately you’ll probably only get to provide loads of technical advice to support a legal case, it will drag on forever and you might not even get the job at the end of the day. So as horrible as it may sound professionally, retreat could be the better part of valour. Nothing good could come of this IF it does go wrong – so why get involved – you have a life and business to run! (and I know from your excellent technical and helpful posts on here that my suggestion is 180degrees away from your nature isn’t it )
