boilers packed in, got no heating or hot water, why dose this allways happen on the coldest spell of the year?

it packed up last week, got british gas out, as we have the 3 star cover with them, they said they fixed it (the fan was stuck) 2 days later its stopped again..:mad2:.......there coming out again tomorrow, i will be having a few words...:incazzato:

Its a good excuse to stay longer hours at work and use their heating :smilewinkgrin:, I was in bed at 8.30 pm last night ...warmest place even though the temp wasn't too bad here yesterday. No point having the heating on just for me...anyway we men don't feel the cold....now where's my hot water bottle ?

our pump packed up a few weeks ago , no heating for 2 days freezing , how did we cope when we were kids , we had no central heating , just coal fires

My brother used to get me to scrape the ice off the inside of our bedroom window to see what the weather was doing..:nopity:

Cos I'm such a scrooge, I only allow the heating on for 1 hour during the day. The rest of the time I insist on using an electric heater and only heating the room we're in and shutting all the doors to stop the heat escaping. Hubby thinks I'm bonkers but he might have to go back to working full time if the gas bill gets too high.

well, turns out where the fan was stuck last week its now burnt it out, which explains why the fuse box has been tripping out, a couple of times a day.....

of course they dont carry a spare fan for my boiler, so got to wait till tomorrow, another evening with no heating or hot water...



so im still ...freeeeeeezzzzzzing

well, turns out where the fan was stuck last week its now burnt it out, which explains why the fuse box has been tripping out, a couple of times a day.....

of course they dont carry a spare fan for my boiler, so got to wait till tomorrow, another evening with no heating or hot water...

Heating systems pack in this time of the year due to them being turned up or on. The pipe-freezing surge will come next too.

Plumbers don't do bad over winter by the looks of our plumbing forum. Loads of call-outs going on.

Not good! 5 star cover you say! Just cancel the cover and call a plumber when you need one mate! They're not that expensive!

Did he do Gas plumbing or normal plumbing?
You can't mess with boilers if you're not Gas Safe Registered (I keep being reminded in every other thread on the plumbing forum) lol
