There's an issue with old posts which is causing smilies and links to not load (and quotes and any other code).

It's happened before and it's my fault (sorry :p ) but to fix it the forum needs to be much quieter. It only takes a minute or two but while people are posting it interupts the process so it stops.

So tomorrow when you logon, it'll be fixed.

Sorry once again. I thought I'd tell you all as I've had a couple of PM's about it and suspect there could be more coming my way.

I think the issue with smilies in posts should be fixed now.

As for the laptop, I generally go for a toshiba satellitte but my next one is going to be a mac.

If you did go back to a desktop I haven't got a clue I've always had mine built for me and usually get them pretty customised and they last years longer than a normal purchased PC and are really easy to fix and get parts for, and upgrade even. Which is something I can't do with laptops so I have one of both but a really high spec desktop and a laptop I change every 12 - 18 months or so.
