Think you are in the best position if the other tiler has to work for you, whats up is his "finding work for himself" technique all wrong!!

:8:

Figure eights, circles... Essentially the same, as you're still doing circles... As long and you don't skip smoothing/evening the grout out, and go straight to washing, it's all up to personal preference, and what you feel works in the given situation, as not all grouts and tiles are the same...

I normally do the same thing as Varley; go over the entire thing with a circular action and then I clean off in straight lines, top to bottom.

NO 2 tilers work the same Daz.....as long as your method gives the same results then tell him to go swivel.......🙂

cheers boys, today i was cracking on,customer giving me so much grief i told them i cannot bend tiles like elastic,i was hoping to be outta there by tonight but that went **** up,ran out of addy just as i noticed the time shops shut!

dont worry clays.....days like this are par for the course. you keep crackin on mate. anyway, you find out more about yourself when things go wrong than when they go well ;0) so you will come back better for it mate!!. and as for circles and figures of eight then isnt an 8, 2 circles joined togther lol...

clays mate every day is a school day allow plenty of time for the setout (check it check it again then lay ) so what it seems has happened you are trying to cut slithers with the wet cutter to fill the small gaps on the edges of the room, which takes ages on every cut (and is soul destroying and the owner of the house (wife) is probably watching you you cut these slithers and thinking you dont know what your doing ) but when you work it out in your head you know if you had set it out right in the first place they wouldnt be steam coming out of your ears and it wouldnt have taken as much time
