hi clay,if you click the tiler training school link on the right hand side of this page and go to there gallery there is a pic of how to profile round these fancy door frames mate,,undercut your tile and use a tile file to shape your curves round the frame,it does add on a fair bit time but i bet itwill get mrs moaney arse of your back for good mate as it will look the dogs danglies:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sorry to say that there is nothing unusual with those architraves. Pretty standard stuff. As said, cut them off and slide tile under. If client complains they have 2 options...cut around or cut them off. They shouldnt even be on in a new build anyway, would have been easier to wait until tiling was done.

how does it matter what technique you use as long as the do the best grouting job, obviously people have different methods thats what makes us unique.

if he says anything else clays about your technique stick the sponge up his ar*e

Hi clays,

How are you doing now mate, we all have days like that when you feel so under pressure and paranoid. What dosent break us will make us stronger. When i think about some of the **** I've been through in the last year I wonder how I'm still doing tiling. Every new job is a challenge, never take anything for granted and allways remember you are only as good as your last job. Your grouting teqnique sound good to me. Swirl then clean.

I know exactly how you feel mate, I find it very hard to take any critisism of my tiling. Not that that happens much but I do take a bit to heart.

I think in this game mate you need thick skin. Life is too short. Next job you doo I bet you will try twice as hard. We need these experiences now and then to keep our standards up.

There are good times and bad times with this game try to stay level minded at all times never start to believe you are the best but dont get to upset with bad times

I remember one job I did, kitchen splash the customer arrived home from work. When she saw the job she stuck the lips on my cheek (seriously) I couldn't believe it.

And then you get onther customers in that moan about nothing. :mad2:

Stay on the level my man and you will be fine:thumbsup:
