Laser Levels

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

i have been looking at tools etc and a laser level was on the list but having worked with these tilers from merseyside this week, i dont know wheter they are worth it now.

we have been flying round the room with stabila levels and all the lines where spot on. really not sure whether an expensive laser level for domestic, light commercial tiling is worth it??

when you are learning we all tend to get carried away with tools side of things, thinking they'll solve the problems but when you are actually working with good tradesman, its surprising how you soon realise that you dont need as much as you think..

so on that note, 'll now go out and buy a 200 quid laser level!!!!

I bought one from B and Q a few months back, a bosh one that was about 70 quid. Got it because i didn't have too much cash at the time and the aim was to buy a "better one" later on down the line. However i don't need to, the Bosch is really really good. Perfectly bright lines and very accurate.

You might find this useful as well... [DLMURL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM0jheNhrjc"]YouTube - Laser Level[/DLMURL]

took a look and was surprised that it still relies on adjusting a bubble. Think that i would need a water level as well, to check the lazers accuracy!

Self leveling laser takes seconds to set up, no bubbles to worry about

Someone on site yesterday got his out to show me(stanley CLL laser that is)Its an awesome bit of kit thats not too expensive, about £70.
I know its accurate cause he demonstrated it on the toilets I just did and he used my grout lines to prove how straight the laser was:wink_smile:

I find the laser most usefull for working out your datum, you can set it at a given hieght, measure to all your horizontals and then its easy to move it up or down until your cuts work right. I would still use my stabila levels for marking my lines.
