Mapei Buildfix Grout

What does everyone think of Mapei BuildFix Grout? I usually use Bal for grout and Mapei for Adhesive but have tried this particular Mapei grout in white and grey a few times lately and they never seem very good. Very grainy and the white is not very white and they grey not very grey if you know what I mean?!? Is this the same for the Mapei Ultracolour as I have never used that one?

I think, but stand to be corrected, that the build fix stuff is Mapei's diy budget version of ucp.
I used to use ucp then micro max 2, but now grout 3000 which is the dogs do dahs

Sounds about right that it's a diy one. It's a pain because the client I have used it for last wants me to go back to tile another wall in her kitchen with the same tiles and grout etc but I don't like the look of it! I guess as long as she likes it it don't matter!

The Micromax2 stuff has a 10 year anti-fungal and 25 year life guarantee respectively where as the Buildfix has 5 year guarantee and no obvious anti-fungal. Weighing in the fact that MM2 mixes up pretty smooth, I'd say it outclasses the Buildfix.

I like the mm2 as always drys the right colour and no effervescence. Yet to try 3000 but now have a local stockist

I find that bal is the best for me for retaining a good colour and texture. And I promise I don't work for topps!
