There are loads about but IMO it is the quality of the cement facing that does it for me with either Wedi or Marmox, some of the cheaper ones are not great quality for hanging stone to etc..

Hi Ascot, do a quick google search for Multi Pro Board, they're based in Belfast. They manufacture tile backer boards I recently used there 6mm stuff to sheet over a bathroom floor. First time I used it and found it pretty good.

If you ring them they should be able to tell you your nearest stockist.

There website has full data/technical sheets to refer to for installation/usage purposes.

If your unsure bout anything just give the tech dept a phone and they should help you out no problem.

Best of luck

Ruairimac.

Where abouts in NI are you? A few places stock Aquapanel and then there's the No More Ply which is slightly cheaper.

More good suggestions.

Wingn - I'm in Belfast. I can get my hands on Hardiebacker easily enough (same sort of stuff?) but I like the sound of the lighter weight boards that are easier to cut. I'm no expert in these things!

Frackletons done the foam boards but they shut shop a few weeks ago. Tile Market might still do them, they were taken over so not sure if they still have the same stock, so that only really leaves you with B&Q. McCalls might be worth a ring though, they carry a lot of stock and might be able to get it down to their Carryduff branch.
