Hello all,
Thank you for letting me join your forum(s). A bit about myself....... a few years back the wife and I purchased an old disused sawmills with planning to change to residential use. We converted the main big shed to a house and are at the stage of finishing 1st fix, bar plumbing - thats another story. We've done a large amount of the work ourselves balancing day job and kids so its been a hard slog to get where we are but the end is in sight....hopefully.
Being very rural has it's pitfalls, trying to find good local trades that can rise to a mid/high specification is challenging. Hence I turn to the wider community forums to understand the latest experiences, view feedback on materials and specs to help me assess what I'm being told when I have people come and price jobs.
Forums like this are a godsend for people like me, reading the experience and advice from others and using that to better inform ones own decisions. I look forward to many hours of reading past posts, also a good excuse to not be actually out physically working on the build,
