I thought that about tommy untill I watched a full kitchen fit on one of his programs and was shocked.

ground force did my cousins garden and didnt finish it

I went in and finished it for him

tommys an excellant chippy for a brickie, his cutting and jointing was spot on

as prem has said his tiling leaves a lot to be desired and he should leave it alone

Mike, I don't watch TV anymore, so I can't say much about anything that is on TV.

But, I can say that based on what I read on forums, magazines, and in talking to guys that know their stuff, the guys that are truly widely respected and known to be real, solid tradesmen are guys like Gary Katz, Norm Abram, and Tom Silva. Anyone that knows what they are doing in their own trade can tell that these guys are the Real Deal. Proficiency with the tools can't be faked, no matter how the camera angles are worked.

I don't ever hear anyone saying they think Holmes is a genuine tradesman. He is well-known as a showman and certainly quite successful at what he does. Maybe when the cameras are off an he is on the tools he is good, but I don't recall anyone saying they've seen that.

My buddy that did an installation for a Holmes episode wasn't terribly impressed with the whole operation and how things were run.

norm gets a lot of stick for doing eveything by machine but when you see him pick a plane up and use it
