I went to a private house once and i was to tile the kitchen floor. As i walked through the dining area it was disgusting with hardly a gap in the carpet that wasnt covered with newspapers, magazines or clothes. The kitchen work surfaces were totally full of stuff, dirty plates , cups and car parts. The sink was full of dirty dishes.
About 11am the teenage lad wanders in and looks for a bowl for his cornflakes, there wasnt one clean so he ate them dry out of the box while watching tv. :mad2::mad2:

we had to rip out and refit kitchens for tower hamlets

a lot of kitchens were infested with c ockroaches:yikes:
we had to spray all over everynight and spray our kit before loading the van
we didnt want to take any home

on some jobs you had to lift the washing up bowl full of dirty , greasy water and dishes out of the sink before ripping out.

empty w/machines of rank dirty washing so we could lift them, move piles of dirty washing of the kitchen floor

empty the cupbards of their gear so we could demolish them

it all went out the front door and laid in the garden

as you can imagine in the east end a lot of it got nicked

I was tiling an area of a bungalow that this customer kept her 5 golden retrievers in and i started tiling and at 11am she started boiling TRIPE:yikes:that mixed with the smell of dog was absolutely vile,i actually had to send home my helper that day and i asked her not to cook while we were there as the smell was so bad.Incidently this room was through the wall from the kitchen with no door and only a gate seperating the rooms...absolutely stinking.
